If you are into video games, you more than likely read Edge - the videogames magazine and website. They have just awarded Halo 3 the Edge Award for Innovation at this year’s Edinburg Interactive Festival. This was a surprising choice considering the game was going up against Grand Theft Auto IV, Portal, Rock Band, Super Mario Galaxy and Wii Fit. Although Halo 3 is my favorite game of the ones listed above, I feel like Portal and Rock Band were actually more innovative.
According to the reps at Edge, the game won due to it’s “integration and coherence of Halo 3’s online content”. While I certainly believe that the Halo series has one of the best online setups in console history, it wasn’t a huge improvement over Halo 2. Maybe I say this because I miss Halo 2’s maps…
I’ve been a big fan of Roblox since it came out. For those of you who have never heard of the game, it’s basically a free virtual playworld for kids. Even though it’s for kids, I still find a lot of enjoyment with the game. If you love LEGOs, you’ll certainly love this game. Check out the game’s website sometime! The following video shows an interesting creation of a soccer game with Roblox. We’ll definitely be keeping an eye on new videos, considering the possibilities are endless with the title…
Those of you waiting for the upcoming SOCOM: Confrontation should be glad to know that you can take part in the beta starting September 1, according to the game’s official website. A pre-order at GameStop (only a five-er is needed) will get you in and “Qore” subscribers can head into the trenches on September 8 through the 30th.
The series was once helmed by developer Zipper, but they have sinced moved on to create the epic-scale 256-person shooter, Massive Action Game (MAG for short), revealed at Sony’s E3 2008 press conference. From what we’ve seen, though, Confrontation seems to be in able hands. And if it turns out to be a dud, just cancel the pre-order. Keep your receipt! Those Gamestop employees can be quite sensitive when dealing with cancellations…

I recently received this strange email encouraging me to check out the KKK website. I guess they didn’t realize I was Catholic. I’m also open-minded and love all people, so they certainly aren’t using targeted marketing techniques. Out of curiosity, I checked out their softheaded website that looks like a 8 year-old designed it. I came across some links where they sell various products such as hats, t-shirts, bumper stickers and more. While most of the hat logos are racist, a few are actually clever and some are simply disturbing. One claims the KKK is “the last hope for America”. If that band of mental defects are our last hope, we might as well pack our bags and give up now. The most clever hat states that KKK members are the “Original Boyz N The Hood”. I suppose they are. If you want to check out the other ball caps Klan members are sporting, I dropped a gallery below of all the images. Just please tell me you aren’t going to order any of them!
Gray Fox, Solid Snake and Big Boss. Wouldn’t you like you very own unique Metal Gear Name? Check out this website, which tags you with a first and last name. Mine happens to be Inebriated Beetle. I guess that’s cool. What’s your code name?
“Input your first and last name, and you’ll be given your code name for this mission. The first part of your code name describes your unique skill or personality, and the second part is your animal designation.”
This year’s Toronto Game Jam (ToJAM) took place between May 9 and May 11, 2008. During this time, 34 games were created by various developers and visual artists. All 34 games are now available for download on their website. This may not be a big deal for some gamers, but I find that it’s extremely important to support indie gaming whenever possible. With names like ‘Cheese is WAR’ and ‘MoonCheeseMoney’, how could you possibly go wrong?
Our personal favorite game from the event was ‘Seas Of Cheese’, despite the fact that it finished in 3rd place.
Check out their site and download some of the games!!!
The new improved official Tomb Raider website is now open for business and includes tons of information concerning Tomb Raider Underworld, the anticipated return of Lara Croft expected to hit shelves this November. In addition to actual game information, there’s also a new podcast, various new screens and downloads for your gaming pleasure. We’re all looking forward to this title that will be unlike previous Tomb Raider experiences.
Every hardcore gamer know to be the best you have to ask your mom to drive you to BestBuy at 11:00PM before the release of Metal Gear Solid 4. But being labeled an Idiot buy BestBuy is where I draw the line. I happened to look onto Best Buy’s website and noticed that they made an effort to correct us by insinuating we’re idiots.
Here’s what they said “Just so there’s no confusion, you’ll want to show up on Wednesday night, June 11, and wait for the clock to strike 12 midnight — Thursday, June 12.”
I’m so irate over this that I will give Best Buy a piece of my mind. Only after I pick up my copy of Metal Gear Solid 4 of course. See you loser’s in line at the Best Buy in Secaucus, NJ. I’ll be there tonight, promptly at 11PM!
It looks like the primary Frugooscape website is still down. I was working on an article concerning the game, but it’s really tough to find any good information on the net concerning it, even though it’s a fairly popular game. I have tinkered around with the game some myself, and still am not sure what the difference between Frugooscape is and Frugoscape. Some people also call it Frugoo Scape. Here’s the message you’ll find when trying to access the site:
Something is wrong with the server computer and it wont even turn on.
I have purched a new QUAD CORE 2.4GHZ server with 8GB ram to replace the broken server.
Frugoo Scape ultimate is coming close to being done too.
Please check back soon..
PS: The new Frugoo Scape Ultimate online trade system is awesome. It allows you to put your items that you want to sell online into a bank on the game and you can have bids on the items and stuff just like ebay only for Frugoo Scape Ultimate Game Gold or for another item(s). Frugoo Scape Ultimate also is able to hold 2k people at once and has been tested for it. Well, thats all the info I’m going to leak about Frugoo Scape Ultimate.
In an interesting turn of events, while I was trying to find out some more information on Frugooscape, I discovered a game called ‘Perfect World’ which was advertised on the site. The best place to download ‘Perfect World’ is from FileFront. It’s basically in the same genre as Frugooscape, but looks like it might actually be a little better. I haven’t had the time to make that call yet though…
