I’ve been talking about how terrible Batman’s voice was in the Dark Knight for a while now and I’m glad to see that people out there are finally making parody clips about it. The following YouTube video is actually one guy playing 2 roles. He’s basically making a parody of the interrogation scene from the Dark Knight. It’s wonderful that others are seeing how moronic Bale’s gravelly voice was. Some may claim it was clever and realistic, but was the lisp and growl filled voice really necessary? Check out the following clip if you want a good laugh…

Read the following quote and let it sink in:

Naturally the common people don’t want war, neither in Russia, nor in England, nor in America, nor in Germany. That is understood. But after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.

Wish you would have paid more attention in social studies class?  Or that you didn’t have a teacher who was too scared to speak the truth.  In the past 7+ years George Bush has committed mass murder by killing over 300,000 civilians in Iraq.

This morning, on the Howard Stern show, I heard a very interesting commentary from former governor Jesse Ventura.  He was a navy Seal and an underwater demolitions expert.  There is not one demolition expert who was on his team that thinks that the planes knocked down the towers on 9/11.  Explosives were planted, Bush needed a major event to perpetuate his oil war and control the oil in the MidEast.  Please if anyone thinks I’m wrong…

Tell me how.

I was one of the millions who went to watch the slightly above mediocrity which is “The Dark Knight” this past weekend.  I’m not here to bash the movie, or claim it’s the worst but people out there HAVE to come to their senses. The Dark Knight (TDK) is NOT the best movie of all time, and that’s the truth!!!

Heath Ledger had his best performance on the silver screen, with his portrayal of ‘The Joker’   Everyone loved his performance, which I thought any other actor acting like a psycho would have done.  Not that difficult, you put some make-up on and read lines which professional writers give you - done!

Now the real talent was with Harvey Dent / Two-Face played by Aaron Eckhart.  His performance as the District Attorney was stellar and when he transformed into Two-Face he was that much better.  There is no doubt Eckhart’s performance out did Tommy Lee Joness’, but I’m also going out on the limb here to say he was the best actor on screen.

I actually forgot the plot of the movie was supposed to be around this guy, umm… Batman.  Christian Bale was really trying to throw more than his voice, his “angry” Batman lines were actually amusing.  A better movie would have been ‘Two-Faced Joker’, and skip this nippleless suit crime fighter.

Onto the IMDB debate

When I looked to see where “The Dark Knight” matched up against other Action movies, I was stunned.  Comparing TDK to other great titles is just plain and simply idiotic.  Shawshank Redemption, The Godfather, and Star Wars: Empire Strikes back are fantastic films.  I see TDK in the upper crust, but more of a 7 than a 9.4.  Here are my pro’s and cons on TDK.

Pros:

  • Harvey Dent / Two Face
  • The Joker’s quotes
  • Batman’s motorcycle

Cons:

  • Batman’s voice
  • Maggie Gyllenhaal as Rachel Dawes
  • 152 minute run-time

Tell me who you think was the best actor on screen.

In a survey taken by game journalists in 2007, it’s discoveries about Japanese gamers inspired me to write about it. Ever notice that most games made in Japan have subtitles? (and not because they’re in Japanese, wiseguy) Well that’s because the Japanese would rather read than listen. Is that the developer’s choice to not include audio? some video game analysts say “no”. “It’s hard to emphasize certain points of the game.” Sure, you can show a character angry, but you can read ‘What’s he doing here?’ two ways”. Without a voice I would read the sentence as it’s written. But without a voice it would be difficult to know that he meant ‘What’s HE doing here?’, adding emphasis on the word he. My capitalization may or not make sense, thus my need in audio.

The above video is a trailer for Zak McKracken: Between Time and Space, a German game where development started over 7 years ago.

Zak McKracken: Between Time & Space is an unofficial sequel to Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders, and has been in development for more than seven years. The game boasts over fifty locations, 3D models, high-quality backgrounds and professional voice work - but the drawbacks are that it’s in German, and the download size is close to 2 GB in total. With the new maps coming out, we’ll probably be getting in some heavy Halo 3 hours this week. We’ve been a little burnt out on the game lately, so there’s nothing better than new maps to freshen things up a bit. Unfortunately, Halo has always been a love-hate relationship for some of us going back to the original game. We simply love the game, and hate many of the types of gamers it attracts. These types of gamers apply to most other games as well.

Here’s a rundown of the types of gamers we despise running into:
