With the holiday’s approaching, why not pick up some stocking stuffers. I’m picking up the Wii Magnum Gun for $4. So I can play Resident Evil 4.
From time to time I’ll play a video game that I’m not really sure what to think about. Mirror’s Edge is one of those rare titles. Part of the game feels like an absolute masterpiece, while other parts seem mediocre.
Thanks to Atari for picking up the Ghostbuster franchise, 2 new screens were leaked to the press.
While many of us thought Ghostbusters: The Video game was lost due to the release of Activision-Blizzard, Atari saw the potential. It seems that many developers only invest in games that have sequel potential ie. Guitar Hero etc. Coming to PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PC, DS and PS2 in 2009, the release will coincide with the Ghostbusters movie’s 25th Anniversary.
“Ghostbusters: The Video Game is a fantastic addition to Atari’s global line-up in 2009,” said company president Phil Harrison in a prepared statement today. “The title has built considerable anticipation and excitement among game fans.”
Dynamic weather is something we always dream about as gamers, but never get to see. From looking at the following video, I’d have to say it looks like ‘Stoked’ got it right. I was a big fan of the Amped series and it looks like ‘Stoked’ will take snowboarding to a new video game level…
Now that you have all had time to check out the first Gears of War 2 gameplay video over the weekend, what do you think? Personally, I’m not all that impressed with what I saw. I was certainly expecting a step up in graphics and less choppy gameplay, but didn’t see anything in the video that showed me there were many improvements. It looks like pretty much the same game as the original Gears. It did look like the pistol was full-auto, which hopefully is an indication that they have improved or at least changed some of the weapons. To be honest with you, I was not a huge fan of the original game and felt like it was the most over-rated title of 2006. I’m not saying it was a bad game. I felt it was a good game, but did not deserve the overwhelming praise it received.
My reasoning behind my feelings for the original Gears primarily deal with the fact that the game at it’s core did not offer anything new in the genre. The game engine itself was impressive, but the gameplay was severely lacking in my opinion. I know that’s not the most popular opinion in the world, but it’s a legitimate concern expressed by myself and others. Fortunately, Gears 2 will be longer and more epic. They have tweaked the multiplayer elements, but I haven’t had the opportunity to see what changes have been made yet. Epic also added a chainsaw duel mode which should add some depth to the new title. From what I have seen so far, I expect Gears 2 to be a slightly better game, but perhaps not as great as some people expect. If you are a Gears fan, you’ll probably love it. I just hope they added enough to attract gamers that weren’t so hot on the original.
Kotaku’s Owen Good recently reported on Kombo.com’s list of demands they want to see for the future of Grand Theft Auto. It’s probably a little early to start complaining about GTA, but these kinds of articles definitely get the attention author’s crave on Digg.com and other social networking sites.

I’m sure GameStop has not even thought about taking pre-orders on God Of War III yet, so in comes Amazon.com to fulfill your pre-ordering needs. I wasn’t sure if the pre-order page was going to stay up so I provided a screenshot just as proof! If they do use that cover, it would be very plain for a GOW3 title.

I just caught a great article posted on Gaming Today for the new COD4 maps available for the US via DLC on April 24th. For our Eurpean viewers, you guys will have to wait one week more, May 1st, to experience the awesomeness. With the release of the new map packs be sure to expect some server issues as everyone who owns a PS3 will be trying to play on the new maps. Problem is they are on a shuffle schedule, and I can never tell which map is coming up next. Annoying.
In addition to the new maps being released, Infinity Ward Developers will be showcasing their talents on April 25th. You can catch them online from 8pm EDT to 11pm EDT. Oh boy, would I Like to get those Dev’s in “Shipment” and melee them with knives (to thank them of course for THE Best FPS)
