One of the greatest mysteries that plagued many Karateka fans, has finally been answered.

If you’ve played the 1984 classic Karateka published by Broderbund, you may not be aware of the mystery within the game.  Well, the developer, Jordan Mechner, thought of one of gaming’s original Easter egg.  Now, I never knew developers back in the 80’s bothered with Easter eggs, so I do appreciate their ‘over the limit’ effort.  Below is an excerpt from Gamasutra, explaining the Easter egg and why it was done:

“The programmer doing copy protection for the game figured out that by messing with the bit table, the whole game could be played upside down, which is really hard to do,” Mechner explained. “We thought it would be hilarious if we burned the flipped version of the game to the other side of the disk.

Ariel, one of our favorite commenters, pointed us to Hulu, an on-demand streaming video site, a few weeks ago and this writer is definitely HOOKED. Productivity has seriously been on a downhill curve after visiting with TV shows one has missed because of the annoying thing called “life” and “schoolwork.”

Sure, the site’s main goal, probably, is to attract some of the attention ADD-infused Americans miss out on with the inconvenience of scheduled programming. Regardless, now you can watch a lot of popular shows (”It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” “The Moment of Truth,” and plenty others) whenever you want — might even give you a reason to get rid of that pricey TiVo service. We’re certainly looking forward to Saints Row 2 here at Kezins.com.  So far, it looks like the title will have more to offer than Grand Theft Auto IV did in some ways.  The latest SR2 trailer poked fun at the activities in GTA IV.  While the video is a brilliant piece of marketing, there may be a little truth to it.  I’d certainly rather steal a sewage truck and spray it on innocent pedestrians than waste my time bowling with  Roman.  The question in my mind is “how will the graphics end up looking and how smooth will the game play?” The game doesn’t even come out until October, so I’m not sure how much competition it will have with GTA IV, but I am sure that the title will be analyzed and compared to GTA in every aspect.  From what I’ve seen so far, Saints Row 2 may actually be a great title.  Will it be better than GTA IV?  At this point, I’d still say “no”.  What do you guys think?
