We mentioned all the trophies in our previous post, and since y’all have the memory of a zombie I felt I had to stop you from eating brains and patch up your PSN title, PixelJunk Monsters. Coincidence Sony patched Pixel Junk Mosters before Halloween? Doubt it!
The Sony PSP has been my top choice for portable gaming since it came out. With the Nintendo DSi around the corner, I may have to start thinking about the options. My love for the PSP is centered around my desire for homebrew. It looks like the DSi could turn out to be a great homebrew system. Wondering what the Nintendo DSi has in store for us? Check out the following video and wonder no more…
The Nintendo DSi video is in Japanese, but it still gives a look at some features we should expect!
Looking for LBP on October 21, dont! Sony has pushed back their release date by one week to October 27th.
Sony has released an official statement confirming reports that LittleBigPlanet will be delayed.
Here’s the statement from Sony:
“During the review process prior to the release of LittleBigPlanet, it has been brought to our attention that one of the background music tracks licensed from a record label for use in the game contains two expressions that can be found in the Qur’an. We have taken immediate action to rectify this and we sincerely apologise for any offence that this may have caused.”
Listen to Carlos and I discuss this LBP delayed news here.
September sales show that Microsoft’s move to become cheaper than Nintendo’s Wii last month was a much needed one. It wasn’t enough to push it past the Wii, but it did rank 3rd topping all of Sony’s hardware offerings.
Although Microsoft has denied all rumors that Blu-ray may come to an Xbox 360 near you, Toshiba-Samsung Corp has been contracted to produce external Blu-ray drives for the 360.
It is no shock that Microsoft HAD to do something in order to compete with Sony’s Blu-ray disc storage capacity. They tried with HD-DVD and we all know how that failed, and Microsoft wasn’t going to jump on the “Sony Blu-ray wagon”. That was then, this is now.

World View 2008 unites the global camera phone community through its international search for the best camera phone photographers of the year. This contest run by Sony Ericcson seems like one of the more interesting contests I have seen in a while. Click HERE to enter the contest! We received information on the contest from our friends at Fuel My Blog.
The site shows two prizes, for the best photograph, one judged by a panel of professionals, one most voted for. As of right now, bloggers will also get the chance to win a holiday. To be in with a chance to win, simply add their widget to your blog (can be found here - not any links to it yet on their site). How to win:-
1. One randomly selected blog displaying the widget will be selected.
2. The blog that delivers the most traffic to the site from its blog.
Driven by demand of video games and Blu-ray equipped, the PlayStation 3 sales are 30% better than Sony expected.
According to Jack Tretton, Chief Executive of Sony Computer Entertainment of America, he anticipates sales of the PS3 to reach a previously announced target of 10 million units by the end of the year, in March 2009.
“We are in good shape for that number worldwide,” he said in an interview. “We are tracking at 100 percent up over last year … about 30 percent ahead of where we should be. So sales could slow down and we will still hit our number.”
Yeah, that means Sony will not let you watch all those movies you’ve “borrowed” off the interwebs and stream them to your friends at the same time. It seemed a little too good to be true when it was announced but Wired lets us know that the feature has been axed…at least with this year’s release of Home.
The reason Microsoft can do video streaming is that it avoids legal issues by teaming up with Netflix — which already deals with film rights — in its upcoming dashboard update for the Xbox 360. We’ll have to see if Sony takes a similar approach or avoids it altogether in future updates to their social network.
