‘Prison Break’ Video Game Confirmed

August 18, 2008

It looks like Brash Entertainment will release a video game adaptation of Prison Break on PS3 and Xbox 360 in in February, 2009. Brash confirmed that a small screen adaptation will follow up its Hollywood tie-ins for movies such as Jumper, Alvin and the Chipmunks and Space Chimps.

Fans of Prison Break probably noticed a quick advertisement for the game inside the Season 3 boxset of the show. We really don’t have any information on the game other than what was confirmed to Gamespot.

PAIN: Hotel Coral Essex in Paradise

July 28, 2008

With PS3’s Summer Sale going on till July 31, I thought this was the perfect time to go ahead and buy me some PAIN for $4.99. With the additional add-on characters, I clearly understood PAIN’s sexual innuendo’s. I mean their Ninja character’s name in Hung-Lo, come one.

As I positioned the main character, Jarvis, into PAIN’s catapult I noticed the building in the distance located in the center of the screen. Watching “Revenge of the Nerds 2: Nerds in Paradise”, I quickly realized the resemblance. It was obvious to me, that the level “Paindemonium” was set in Miami, Fl. Check out the rest of the pics below:

Ok, ok So I knocked out some letters, sue me!

First Impression: For $4.99, it’s a great buy on the PSN Summer Sale.  Full Review coming soon…

Relax Already, The Dark Knight is NOT The Best Movie of All Time!

July 25, 2008

I was one of the millions who went to watch the slightly above mediocrity which is “The Dark Knight” this past weekend.  I’m not here to bash the movie, or claim it’s the worst but people out there HAVE to come to their senses. The Dark Knight (TDK) is NOT the best movie of all time, and that’s the truth!!!

Heath Ledger had his best performance on the silver screen, with his portrayal of ‘The Joker’   Everyone loved his performance, which I thought any other actor acting like a psycho would have done.  Not that difficult, you put some make-up on and read lines which professional writers give you - done!

Now the real talent was with Harvey Dent / Two-Face played by Aaron Eckhart.  His performance as the District Attorney was stellar and when he transformed into Two-Face he was that much better.  There is no doubt Eckhart’s performance out did Tommy Lee Joness’, but I’m also going out on the limb here to say he was the best actor on screen.

I actually forgot the plot of the movie was supposed to be around this guy, umm… Batman.  Christian Bale was really trying to throw more than his voice, his “angry” Batman lines were actually amusing.  A better movie would have been ‘Two-Faced Joker’, and skip this nippleless suit crime fighter.

Onto the IMDB debate

When I looked to see where “The Dark Knight” matched up against other Action movies, I was stunned.  Comparing TDK to other great titles is just plain and simply idiotic.  Shawshank Redemption, The Godfather, and Star Wars: Empire Strikes back are fantastic films.  I see TDK in the upper crust, but more of a 7 than a 9.4.  Here are my pro’s and cons on TDK.

Pros:

  • Harvey Dent / Two Face
  • The Joker’s quotes
  • Batman’s motorcycle

Cons:

  • Batman’s voice
  • Maggie Gyllenhaal as Rachel Dawes
  • 152 minute run-time

Tell me who you think was the best actor on screen.

Microsoft Bans ‘Ben Dover’

July 3, 2008

If you currently have a variation of ‘Ben Dover’ as your name on Xbox LIVE, you will be required to change it if Microsoft hasn’t already banned your name. It seems to me like Microsoft is getting a little too “PC” and trying to eliminate any kind of creative screen names that may have adult meanings behind them. Recently, Microsoft also decided to ban any screen names with the word “gay” included.

Are they going too far with name restrictions? What do you guys think? I realize that Microsoft is worried about offending people, but perhaps they are going a little too far. How about banning the foul-mouthed punks who continually plague XBL? Screen names are really the least of my worries.

Happy 25th Anniversary, ‘Dragon’s Lair’

June 20, 2008

To think I first played you when I too, was a wee young strapping lad. I remember the time when I first approached your arcade cabinet. First of all, getting to you was a difficult task. Going to ‘Big Mouth’ in North

Bergen, NJ was not the nicest crowd of kids. Your cabinet had a smell of freshly glued artwork on the side and your screen was nothing I’ve seen before. I looked on as others played before me, trying to find a spot where my quarter can sit (letting everyone else know, I had next).

Finally, it was my turn. I was a bit intimidated by the colorful screen and superb graphics. One thing you forgot to mention, a joystick and ONE button? How the hell was I supposed to throw a haduken. Action Button? Oh well, I managed to play but could never get out of the way of those bats!

New Posters For ‘The Spirit’ (Movies)

June 15, 2008

We’ve seen some really terrible films this year, but it looks like some good ones will be hitting screens everywhere this winter. One film we’re all looking forward to is ‘The Spirit’ which is based on Will Eisner’s classic comic strip and re-told by Frank Miller for the big screen.  Two new posters feature Eva Mendes and Scarlett Johansson and the art certainly has Frank Miller written all over it.

Joystiq Publishes Rock Band 2 Concept Art

June 5, 2008

Surveys are a regular thing in movies, TV, and video games. They’re conducted by “professionals” to learn from a group of people (test subjects) on just what they’ll be likely to buy. The above screen, sent in to Joystiq, represents some of the box art Electronic Arts might be pitching to potential buyers this fall.

Does it make you want to buy it? Does it evoke a need for it inside of you? Whatever the case, let’s hope EA and Harmonix will not neglect our ability to play our EXTENSIVE collection of songs already downloaded in the original for the sequel. As Mr. Juan Perez would say…”that is key.”

Old School Sundays: Sega Mega Jet

June 1, 2008

If you happened to be on a flight with Japan Airlines in the early to mid 1990s, you probably had the opportunity to play the Sega Mega Jet, which was a portable version of the Mega Drive. Unfortunately, the Mega Jet lacked a screen, but could play several Mega Drive cartridges when plugged into a screen. In 1994, the system went commercial for US$123. The main problem with the system was that it still didn’t have a built-in screen and had to be played with an AC adapter.  Another limitation to the system was the fact that you could only play certain games out of the entire Mega Drive collection.
