Deciding who the best Joker was in various comic based films and television shows is no easy task. We recently posted the “Top Five Joker Quotes From ‘Batman: The Dark Knight’” which included the debate of Nicholson vs. Ledger in the comments. This time we want to make it official and poll the readers with the question “who was the best Joker?”
Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.
Cesar Romero
Cesar Romero was the Joker of the 1960s, playing the role in 18 episodes of the television series. He also reprised the role in the 1966 film.
I’ve seen some great Zelda pieces over the years, and this has to be up there with the best. ‘Ocarina of Time’ was perhaps the best of all Zelda games and the Sheik had a little something to do with that. The character is as mysterious now as he was back then. ”The Sheik” by First4Figures is currently selling for $99.90 on Play-Asia and will probably not remain on the site for too long. Velvet Assassin (previous, working title: Sabotage) is an upcoming stealth action video game for Xbox 360 and PC to be released on October 17th, 2008. The game is inspired by a real life World War II secret agent/saboteur Violette Szabo. Players take on the role of Violette Summer as she goes behind enemy lines to thwart the German war machine.
In Velvet Assassin, players assume the role of Violette Summer and head deep behind enemy lines with no support or official backing from the British Government. Violette risks her life fighting to defeat the German war machine one stealth mission at a time. Velvet Assassin combines lush, surreal visuals and a ground-breaking stealth combat system to deliver a gaming experience which is truly the first of its kind.
In 1984 Arcade Galleria’s had their hands on an instant classic. Kung-Fu Master was a great action fighter game that included 5 floors of kicking and punching (and sweeping midgets).
The player takes the role of Keiji Thomas, a man in a Keikogi and slippers. Thomas’s girlfriend, Sylvia, has been kidnapped by “Mr. X”, and Thomas must fight through five side-scrolling floors full of enemies to rescue her.
The first floor of the temple contains Grippers (standard Kung Fu henchmen who charge Thomas and grab him, draining his life bar) and Knife Throwers (men who throw knives high or low). But subsequent levels introduce Tom Toms (small dwarves who can surprise Thomas by jumping on his head), poisonous moths, fire-breathing dragons (Thomas must punch or kick them before they breathe fire), snakes, and confetti balls. (These hang in mid-air for a few seconds and then explode into three pieces after a few seconds; Thomas must jump kick these before they explode. If Thomas is hit by any pieces of debris from an exploding confetti ball, he takes massive damage.)
Each of the five floors ends with a different boss who must be defeated before Thomas can climb the stairs to the next floor. The first two bosses are ordinary men armed with a stick and honed boomerangs, respectively. The third is a Giant, the fourth a Black Magician, and the fifth is Mr. X, a versatile Kung Fu master. Thomas must complete each floor within a fixed time. The timer starts at 2000. If it falls below 330, a warning sounds. If a boss defeats Thomas, the boss laughs. Although there are five bosses, the game only uses two different synthesized laughs.
Two new games have been added to the Xbox LIVE Arcade today. The first game is ‘Elements of Destruction’ from THQ, where you get to take on the role of mother nature and manipulate the weather to cause chaos and destruction. Think of Sim City without having to balance the budget. The second is ‘Sea Life Safari’ from Sierra which is basically similar to Pokemon Snap.
11 new screens for Dead Space have surfaced and they look sweet as expected. For those of you unfamiliar with the title, this is EA’s 3rd-person action game scheduled to be released this October. In the game, you take on the role of Isaac Clark, a space engineer on an intergalactic mining ship called the Ishimura. Obviously being in space there will be plenty of aliens to battle. Some may also consider the title to be a space-horror game as well. Enjoy the screens!
All fingers are pointing at this guy as the new Artie Lang
Thank god for my Sirius Satellite Radio. On Howard Stern’s morning radio show exclusively on satellite, Artie Lang openly spoke about his upcoming role in the latest of the Leisure Suit Larry saga. The new game will be called Leisure Suit Larry - Box Office Bust. Artie continued to say how he was invited to voice over his in-game character just a couple days ago. Now, if you listen to the Howard Stern show, you know how honest Artie can be. He went on to say “I’m not even sure what the game’s about”. He continued to say “I was told that I had to supply 3 hours worth of audio… after an hour and a half I was done”.
Now the above means to me either Artie Lang is a very talented, no mistakes actor… or… he has a minimal role in ‘Box Office Bust’. After the last Lesiure Suit Larry ‘Magna Cum Laude”, Sierra takes another stab to revive the old school ‘Mature’ gaming experience.
