‘GTS World Racing’ on iPhone

August 11, 2008

Thought gaming on the iPhone was a joke? Check out the following video of ‘GTS World Racing’ and it may change your mind. While I don’t think the iPhone will take much business away from the Sony PSP or Nintendo DS, it’s certainly going to take some. The quality of gameplay and graphics really surprised me with this title. I am so accustomed to crappy mobile games over the years, but it looks like the iPhone has really set a new standard…

PS3 Firmware 2.42 Out Now, Nothing Special

July 30, 2008

As of now, nothing special to report.  From the keyboard on PlayStations Blog:

“Just wanted to give everyone a quick heads up that a PS3 firmware update (v2.42) is now available for download. This update improves the playback quality of some PLAYSTATION 3 and PlayStation format software.”

Some sites were reporting the release of Life with PlayStation.  Here is what Life with PlayStation is all about:

Rumor: Photos Of The New PSP Model (PSP-3000)

July 22, 2008

New images of the “PSP-3000″ originating from China have been all over the internet today. Many sites are claiming that this is proof that there is a new PSP model currently in production. The photos aren’t high quality enough for me to decide, so believing is up to you.  If these are correct by chance, it looks like it has a built-in mic and several changes to the physical appearance of the system.

EA - Investors “Don’t Give A Sh** About Quality”

July 22, 2008

“I don’t think the investors give a sh*t about our quality. They care about our earnings per share. They wait for it to happen. We had three years where we didn’t make our expectations. If I were an investor, I would wait and see. That’s fine with me.” - Electronic Art’s CEO, John Riccitiello

While some people may not believe Riccitiello’s statement, I certainly do.  It’s sad that video games have gotten so mainstream that quality may no longer be a primary concern for the companies.  I see the gaming industry becoming more and more like the Hollywood movie machine every day.

Trailer Trash: SIREN: Blood Curse

July 11, 2008

If you wondering why ‘Trailer Trash’ is in the title it has NOTHING to do with the quality of the trailer.  Just our gimmicky approach to keeping our trailer videos organized.  Pathetic.. I know.  Looking ahead, coming July 24th to a PSN near you, is the upcoming thriller/horror Asian themed downloadable game, ‘SIREN:Blood Curse’.  Check out the squeamish trailer…

Game Review: ‘Don King Presents: Prizefighter’ (Xbox 360)

July 4, 2008

[ad#ad-1]

Title: Don King Presents: Prizefighter
Platforms: Xbox 360, Nintendo DS, Nintendo Wii
Developer: Venom Games
Publisher: 2K Sports

Don King is certainly one of those characters in this world that you love to hate.  His odd hairdo, weird personality and use of his own slang words certainly is enough to excite most people, whether they like him or not.  When Don promised us that ‘Prizefighter’ would be the “most realistic boxing video game in history”, I got excited even though I didn’t really believe him.  With that said, ‘Don King Presents: Prizefighter’ doesn’t quite make it into the same league as the Fight Night series from EA.

Microsoft to Delist Crapulance on XBLA

May 22, 2008

Microsoft has decided to do some house cleaning and reduce the number of crap titles on XBLA. Its a good measure that lets us know there will be some kind of quality control to where we spend our hard-earned monies.

In an exclusive interview with Marc Whitten, Xbox Live’s General Manager, Next Generation got some info on what criteria Microsoft would use to delist games:

* 6 months on Xbox Live

* Metacritic Reviews under 65%

* Less than a 6% Conversion Rate (meaning how often gamers who try the demo upgrade to the full version of the game)

Also, Microsoft will be funding a first-party studio focused on original XBLA titles and “putting our money where our mouth is,” said Whitten.

Facebreaker: Character Trailer

May 13, 2008

Do you like to punch people in the face? If so, EA’s Facebreaker may be the game for you. The following video shows off some of the intense and comical gameplay from the upcoming title. This game may be the boxing title that does for next-gen gaming what Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!! did for old school gaming.

In an effort to increase the quality of videos on our site, we have decided to start uploading our video files to our page on Veoh.com.  I think we can all agree that the quality is superior to YouTube.  Hopefully, we’ll develop our own media player in the future, but for now we’ll stick to using 3rd party upload sites.
