LittleBigPlanet’s success on the PS3 will come to no surprise for those who have followed the customizable game. During E3, LittleBigPlanet showcased Sackboy unveil Sony’s presentation. One of the greatest RPGs of all-time is finally headed to the Nintendo DS.  ’Chrono Trigger’ which is considered by many to be one of the best SNES titles is finally getting a remake.  We don’t know much yet, but we do know they are creating a new dungeon for it, cleaning up the graphics, adding a wireless play mode and the obvious dual-screen presentation.  I haven’t been truly excited about a DS game in a long time until now.  No official release date has been mentioned yet.  We’re hoping it’s later this year…

We have been using games as teaching tools for many years, but I believe that we are just starting to realize the educational value of mainstream games such as Second Life. Montclair State University recently held their Learning 2.0 Conference and an interesting presentation that came out of the event was one titled ‘Second Life as a Pedagogical Tool’. Montclair State is New Jersey’s second largest university. If you are interested in learning more about Half Life and the teaching value it presents, the following slide show is something worth looking at:
