And How They Ruined the Jimmy Kimmel Experience


If you live in the LA area, you know there are plenty of opportunities to go to live tapings of sitcoms, late-night TV, and other video recording shenanigans.

One of the better diversions, especially for latecomers, is the “Jimmy Kimmel Live” taping where you could park atop the TV Guide parking structure and witness bands rock out across the way. It’s fairly obvious by the above image that some of us at Kezins are not big fans of the insane ramblings of Zero Punctuation. Despite our lack of positive feelings for the videos, they seem to continue their popularity. The fact that nearly every episode of Zero Punctuation makes it to the front page of Digg.com certainly says that there’s a lot of people who continue to support the series. Hopefully no one takes this too seriously. We’re just poking fun at Yahtzee who seems to poke fun at all games. If you’ve never seen one of the crazy videos we’re talking about, here’s an example:

How many hairdo’s are wet in this picture?

Sexy Playboy babes, cellphones and games… yes I know I just mentioned two out of three necessities but how else can you call your friends to tell them what your playing. OK, there’s a lie to what I just said, What Friends?!

THQ Wireless Inc., a subsidiary of THQ Inc. (NASDAQ: THQI), today announced that it has signed a worldwide agreement with Playboy Enterprises, Inc. (NYSE: PLA, PLAA) to exclusively develop Playboy-branded mobile games. The multi-year Playboy agreement covers the development and publishing rights to multiple Playboy-branded, lifestyle themed, non-nude mobile games featuring bikini-clad Playmates to be released worldwide. The first title, Playboy Games: Pool Party, is scheduled to launch in summer 2008.

“Given the extensive appeal and popularity of the Playboy brand, mobile games based on this license are sure to provide a fun and entertaining experience,” said Adam Comiskey, vice president, international, THQ Wireless. “THQ Wireless is ideally positioned to provide engaging games with the hallmark of the Playboy lifestyle.”

“The number of Playboy fans around the world has never been greater and that popularity is reflected in the growing sales of Playboy-branded products and services,” said Ed Lang, senior vice president of mobile, Playboy Media Group. ”Given the growth of the mobile industry, we’re excited to join THQ Wireless in offering this next-generation form of entertainment to consumers.”
