We always read about strange Second Life stories, but this has to be the most interesting I have come across in a long time.  For those of you who don’t know about Second Life, it’s an Internet-based virtual world that was launched back in 2003.  Users or “residents” interact with each other with motional avatars, creating an advanced social networking environment.  In this particular case, a resident in the virtual world has now become a criminal in the real world.

Kimberly Jernigan, 33, has been arrested for attempting to abduct her virtual ex-boyfriend in real life.  She originally met the victim while playing Second Life.  According to New Castle County, Del. police, Jernigan hid inside the ex-boyfriend’s home in Claymont, Del. as part of an abduction scheme.  Keep in mind, she’s married and her husband also maintains online “relationships” with various Second Life women.  She was caught hiding in the home armed with a taser.  No mention was made as to how she was caught.  The police report that she planned to abduct him and start a new life together.

The title pretty much says it all. Five teenagers were arrested in Chicago for breaking into a video game store and looting merchandise. The strange part is that two of the criminals nearly escaped the scene, but they asked police officers for a ride home and that’s how they were caught.

I’m not sure if these guys were gamers or not, but they ceratainly need to play a little more Grand Theft Auto IV. They could probably learn a thing or two from our good friend Niko Bellic when it comes to the proper way s of evading police. These guys may actually make our list of “world’s dumbest gamer criminals”.

We decided to use the Beta image of Niko above because these guys don’t deserve the real thing.

We’ve read some weird video game related crime reports, but this has to be one of the strangest. On Wednesday, a man robbed an EB Games store located in the 9000 block of St Charles Rock Road in St. John, Missouri. The town is located approximately 14 miles from downtown St. Louis.

The suspect in the crime entered the store, picked up a PS3 and approached the counter to check out. When the clerk prepared to ring up the purchase, the thief pulled out a gun and told the clerk that his family was being held hostage and he needed a Sony PS3 to have them released. To make it stranger, the suspect instructed the clerk to call the police as he left the building.

By the time the police arrived, the man was already gone and no one really knows what’s going on with the hostage situation if there even is one. The St. John Police Department is currently looking for leads on the case. If you happen to know about this, you can call them at 314-427-8700.

Canadian police constables round up strippers after their shifts at the club and bring them back to the constable lounge for drinks after hours. Evidently, the lounge has vending machines filled with liquor and beer. No stripper pole was mentioned.

Wow. This wouldn’t happen in the US, as it is highly unimaginable any police department would have vending machines with liquor in them. Our liquor laws generally wouldn’t allow it. But DAMN CANADA! Mad props. I didn’t know you had it in you.

You might think with this title that I’m joking, but the Tampa police have actually arrested God selling cocaine near a church. I always thought God would roll with more than 22 grams, but we are in a recession…

TAMPA, Fla. - Police say a man named God was arrested near a Tampa church for selling cocaine. Authorities began investigating God Lucky Howard in April, and he was arrested on Saturday. Police say he sold the cocaine to undercover detectives in his neighborhood. When officers searched his home, they reported finding another 22 grams of cocaine and a scale.
