Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune Trophy Patch Released!
August 4, 2008
Trophies, TROPHIES, we don’t need no stinkin’ TROPHIES!!!
PlayStation 3 fans, will be happy to hear today that Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune has joined the ranks of “Trophy Worthy” games. Now’s a good time to get Uncharted back from your friend and get those damn Trophies. Couple of facts with Drake’s Trophies:
- First PS3 game with Platinum Trophy
- Total of 48 Trophies
- Uncharted Medals are the same PS3 Trophies. (I guess since Uncharted already had medals, they were easily made PS3 Trophies
- Trophies aren’t retroactive (If you got a trophy yesterday, you’ll have to get it again today)
One thing everyone should note, as our co-president Evan Wells told Joystiq during E3, is that we weren’t able to award Trophies retroactively through this patch. This was done so that everyone receives their Trophies fairly and can’t take advantage of the game saves we’ve seen floating around. That means you will have to start a brand new game—without any medals or rewards unlocked—and play through Uncharted to get Trophies.

Audiosurf Song Of The Week (Wednesday-edition)
July 23, 2008
Today we’ve got none other than Trent Reznor treating us with a surf-able track off of Nine Inch Nails‘ latest album The Slip.
“Discipline” is one of NIN’s more dance oriented tracks, in the vein of “Only” from With Teeth (2005) and “Down In It” from Pretty Hate Machine (1989).
You have to applaude Trent & Co. for walking the talk about internet distribution, and giving the fans a choice in their consumerism. The first nine songs off of Ghosts I-IV were free to download, and you can listen to the whole album on the website before choosing whether to buy it or not.
The Slip was released as a free download from NIN’s official website, complete with artwork and the ability to choose what sound quality to download the album in. My initial reaction was that this album would not be as uncompromising as Ghosts I-V, released only a couple of months earlier.
And I was right. The Slip is NIN’s most unaccomplished work to date, but in NIN terms that doesn’t mean it’s a bad album. Every NIN album has a certain sound, and the great, great divide that is between Ghosts I-V and The Slip, boggles the mind that they were released in the same year.
Also, soon a patch will be released which lets you customize your very own game modes. The patch notes will be made available in the Audiosurf forums, and stay tuned for an interview with the man who created the art of audio surfing, Dylan Fitterer!
GTA IV Patched for the PS3… Not fully patched…yet
May 7, 2008
There’s a new patch for GTA IV on the PS3. There’s only a small problem… The Patch didn’t fix the freezing issue. You’ll find this update available when you launch GTA IV and log into your PSN. Our viewers sent us tips, that they are still experiencing freezing issues. Here’s what the update was supposed to relieve straight from RockStar’s keyboards:
“Rockstar Games has released a GTA IV patch for Playstation 3 today that prevents Gamespy’s servers from being overloaded and therefore reduces the impact on those servers that were causing the game to stutter and lock up. We continue to monitor the performance of the game both on and offline and will provide further updates as necessary. We want to assure everyone that, together with our hardware partners, we continue to strive to give our fans the best possible interactive entertainment experiences possible. This update will ensure that everyone will experience Grand Theft Auto IV the way it was intended. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.”
This can only mean two things, RockStar will ask PS3 gamers to buy another version of GTA IV, since it may now be the disc, or please be patient while we work on the issue. (Please note, there is sarcasm oozing out from my first resolution)
