People have been suspicious of this for years now. Accusations are always made, but nothing has ever been done about it. Does GameStop sell used games as new? I am 100% convinced that they do in fact sell used games as new games. I was suspicious of this practice several years ago when I bought a few new games that seemed to have “used level” scratches on them. When I took them back to the store, the manager apologized and replaced the discs. I got what I wanted, so I was satisfied for the time being.

Over the years, I have questioned GameStop’s reasoning for new games coming in cases that were already open. Most of the time, you will hear that they like to keep empty cases on the shelves to prevent theft. While this makes sense, it also makes it real easy for them to pull off the shady business practice they are accused of. With the numerous complaints all over the internet concerning this activity, I am sure the corporation is aware of the complaints, yet they do nothing about it. Would it be too hard for them to just put cardboard inserts on the shelves and give you a new unopened game when you get to the counter?

I’ve been waiting patiently for Inglorious Bastards to hit films, but knew nothing about Sukiyaki Western Django until I stumbled across the IGN trailer on ‘get the big picture‘. Next Friday, this film will appear in only one theater in the United States. For whatever reason, a Japanese film about rival gangs in the 1100s seems like something very interesting to me. Quentin Tarantino is a wonderful director and producer, but his acting skills are limited. Let’s hope his character “Jesus” is limited in the film. After watching the trailer, I see that this film has some real potential.

I finally got around to playing Madden 2009 tonight and I’m a little perturbed with my experience so far. I played a total of 4 games 2 games that I had to play over twice because the screen froze at the end of the match. There’s nothing more frustrating than pulling off an epic performance just to restart your Xbox 360 and lose everything that happened because the game froze. The game seems like a huge improvement over 2008, but the freezing issues are really annoying me. From what I hear, PS3 users are actually experiencing worse issues than the 360 crowd.

The patch that already came out was supposed to fix some stability issues, but perhaps they need to come up with another patch soon. I’ll let you guys know how my Madden 2009 experience goes this week. Perhaps it will get better, but it’s been frustrating so far. Let us know if your game is freezing or not. We’d like to hear from people on what they think about the situation…

As of now, nothing special to report.  From the keyboard on PlayStations Blog:

“Just wanted to give everyone a quick heads up that a PS3 firmware update (v2.42) is now available for download. This update improves the playback quality of some PLAYSTATION 3 and PlayStation format software.”

Some sites were reporting the release of Life with PlayStation.  Here is what Life with PlayStation is all about:

The major attraction at Comic-Con yesterday had nothing to do with comics or nerd news.  Kim Kardashian and Carmen Elektra apparently stole the show promoting ‘Disaster Movie’.  According to most reports, the lines to meet Carmen and Kim were longer than any other line on Saturday.  Check out more images at the via link below.

Nintendo’s E3 Conference should have been a Monday Morning “Bored” Meeting.  There was nothing exciting about that what so ever.  I guess Animal Crossing was their show stopper!  If your looking for what video games they previewed and mentioned about we’ll list it here:

  • Star Wars: The Clone Wars
  • Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party
  • Call of Duty World at War
  • Guitar Hero On Tour Decades (DS)
  • Pokemon Rangers Shadows of Almia
  • Cooking Navi
  • Shaun White snowboarding (Wii)
  • Animal Crossing (Wii)
  • Wii Sports Resort
  • Wii Music
  • GTA Chinatown Wars (DS)

The best game on this list has to be GTA Chinatown Wars.  The game will be set in a modern day Liberty City set in a new DS engine.  I’m not quite sure how well the GTA series will be on a beautifully colored Aquamarine DS.  The contrast of blood would stand out though.

If you wondering why ‘Trailer Trash’ is in the title it has NOTHING to do with the quality of the trailer.  Just our gimmicky approach to keeping our trailer videos organized.  Pathetic.. I know.  Looking ahead, coming July 24th to a PSN near you, is the upcoming thriller/horror Asian themed downloadable game, ‘SIREN:Blood Curse’.  Check out the squeamish trailer…

Sure, being at Wimbledon 2008 is cool.  You can see all your favorite athletes up close and personal, eat ice cream, and watch several matches in one day in the rain.  To me, that’s overrated!  Why not control them from your fingertips, in the comfort of your basement.

Top Spin 3, looks to have something that Virtual Tennis lacked…”Classic Legends”.  With old school players like Boris Becker, Bjorn Borg, and Monica Seles ‘Top Spin 3′ is the first to bring back retired players.

You can bet your bottom dollar, Kezins.com is looking forward to pulling up our socks, tightening up the orange bandana and squeeze into those short shorts to swing the wooden spoon on top of some clay.  Okay, okay play tennis.. geez!

Coming soon: Be sure to come back and check out our review of ‘Top Spin 3′.

New Halo Wars images have been floating around the net and we finally tracked them down. There’s nothing mind blowing here, but it’s an interesting look at some of the things to look forward to. I didn’t expect Warthogs with paint jobs, but I am sure there will be many surprises with this game.

My husband and I spent the weekend watching the A&E show ‘The Two Coreys’ this weekend. I spent Monday chatting around the water cooler with co-workers about this horrible, horrible train wreck of a show. There is nothing much better than watching others’ misery. The harrowing, nail-biting scene was a showdown at a deli between the two to clear the air. They both started talking about being molested! Really? Why you mad at your friend, Haim? He’s got nothing to do with it. Feldman copped to being molested as a child also. My first thought, IT WAS MICHAEL! Feldman imitated the MJ in the most bizarre way for years. It was uncomfortable to see him with a fake Jerri Curl, fedora, white socks, black shoes, and a single glove. White people ain’t supposed to do that. I would say Feldman was doing black-face but that wouldn’t be quite accurate either. Michael Jackson was doing white face. Anyway, I digress.
