The Sony PSP has been my top choice for portable gaming since it came out. With the Nintendo DSi around the corner, I may have to start thinking about the options. My love for the PSP is centered around my desire for homebrew. It looks like the DSi could turn out to be a great homebrew system. Wondering what the Nintendo DSi has in store for us? Check out the following video and wonder no more…
September sales show that Microsoft’s move to become cheaper than Nintendo’s Wii last month was a much needed one. It wasn’t enough to push it past the Wii, but it did rank 3rd topping all of Sony’s hardware offerings.

2. DS - 536,800
3. Xbox 360 - 347,200

It’s hard to imagine a gaming landscape without Halo, much less its excellent multiplayer and that’s what, at one point, laid on the cutting room floor. Gamasutra caught up with the multiplayer designer, Hardy LeBel, who helped push Microsoft’s black box into the hands of millions of gamers worldwide.
LeBel mentions why Bungie planned on axing the series’ main selling point and his goal to “make something that would have felt like it could have been made by Nintendo.” Nice to see lofty expectations actually pan out in the end. He was involved on Halo 2 for a bit, later moved to the SOCOM series, and is now working on multiplayer for FarCry 2.
He made two series work multiplayer-wise, we’re hoping that translates to Ubisoft’s latest game, as well.

The following video is one of the better “Nintendo Facts” clips I have seen on the net. It’s a little creepy with this weird guy stroking his cat and lounging on a bed in his bathrobe at one point, but it’s well worth a view. I knew 20 of the facts in the video already, but had no idea that Nintendo ran a “pay by the hour” love hotel at one point in history. At first I thought this was made up, but I did some research. The hotel actually existed and was often frequented by Fusajiro Yamauchi himself. Who would have known that Nintendo was founded by a perv?

The biggest story of the day has to do with the announcement of the Nintnedo DSi at today’s Nintendo press conference. While the system certainly sounds exciting, they might not be starting off on the right foot by offering Brain Age and Brain Age 2 as the first DLC games. These will be titles re-designed just for the DSi and it should be interesting to find out how downloadable games will work with the system. I just expected the first titles to be a little more appealing.
Nintendo announced a few Wii titles at their Press Conference in Japan. Those mentioned are Wii Punch-Out!!, Another Code, Dynasty Warriors and Sin & Punishment 2.
Well, it looks like all those rumors about a new device are true. Nintendo announces their latest handheld system, the DSi.
In a Japan News Conference, Nintendo announced today their latest handheld system and it’s called the DSi. Similar to the previous DSLite, with some leaner muscle. Nintendo’s also launching an online DSi shop, which will sell content directly over WiFi - including a free browser app. It’ll take Wii Points, which are being renamed Nintendo Points. Couple of things we know right now:
- Screen is 3.25 inches
- No GBA slot
- 12% thinner
- SD slot, and internal storage
- 2 cameras, main cam 3 megapixels
- Comes in White and Black
- Releasing in Japan Nov. 1st
- Releasing everywhere else 2009
- Download games from a “DSi Shop” over Wi-Fi, and save them to the SD card. The games are called “DSi Ware” (a la Wii Ware), and are available for 200, 500, or 800 points.

Looking to take music lessons, give Wii Music a shot first. Coming to the Nintendo Wii on October 20th, you soon will learn how to jam like a “Wii” Pro Musician!
Guitar Hero and Rock Band. What is different between those two games and Wii Music? How bout 60 instruments to play on. That’s right folks, if you ever wanted to play the trumpet and rock out with a guitar, while keeping your rythym on the steel drums Wii Music is for you. The official release date for Wii Music will be October 20th.
All the Wii people in the world were sad when they realized that Street Fighter IV wouldn’t make it to their console in a million years. Capcom will be bringing some exclusive titles to the Wii like Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, so that’s certainly something to get excited about.
According to Famitsu, this game will be coming to the Wii and it will be a console exclusive. I’ve been reading Famitsu articles for some time and if they say it’s true, it’s probably true. Check out the article at Nintendic that lays out some good information on the title!
