August 21, 2008
Our partners in crime at R3Match just finished recording their podcast show #2 last night featuring our own Juan Perez and Carlos Macias. Carlos writes for R3Match in addition to his work here on Kezins. In this edition, C4 (the host) made things work despite the fact we were having audio issues.
If you want to find out what games the guys are currently playing, definitely give the podcast a listen. Feel free to leave comments or suggestions below as well and we’ll make things happen. If tournaments and ladders are your thing, definitely pay R3 a visit. You will not regret it. Click on the link for the podcast below!
The Shogun of Harlem Passed Away
August 20, 2008
Some sad news surfaced today. The “Shogun of Harlem” Julius Carry III passed away last night, but few details are available. Sho’Nuff was probably one of the greatest villains in movie history. Berry Gordy’s The Last Dragon is a 1985 martial arts epic, produced by Rupert Hitzig and directed by Michael Schultz. While the film was a critical disappointment at the time, it was a financial success and is considered by many to be one of the greatest cult classics of the 1980s. Carry’s most famous line from the film was “Kiss My Converse” which has been used time and time again by other films and in rap songs and videos. Carry was 56 when he passed away.
I will never forget the final fight of the film where we learn about the “glow”. The following scene is perhaps my favorite fight scene from any film:
The Force Unleashed Demo to PSN, Xbox Live August 21
August 16, 2008
We’re big fans of GameTrailers TV here at Kezins and, as fans, we look forward to the usual breaking news and exclusive trailers the show provides. In case you guys missed it last night, their reveal Godfather II episode made an exclusive mention of a Star Wars: The Force Unleashed demo landing on Xbox Live and PSN this Thursday, August 21.
Kezins got a chance to play the same demo at Comic Con in July and we came away impressed with how fun the force powers were to use. Fun enough that we forgot we had a lightsaber with us the whole time.
Considering the likely quality of Quest for Booty, Galaga Legions, and the above mentioned demo releasing this week, we must be heading into fall early this year.

Phelps is a perfect 3 for 3 with win in 200 meters freestyle
August 11, 2008
Michael Phelps wins the 200 meter freestyle on Tuesday in Beijing for his third 2008 gold medal.

America sure put all their eggs in Michael Phelpss’ success with his pursuit in chasing Mark Spitzs’ 8 Gold Medals. After Monday’s dramatic 4×100 Men’s relay win over France, Michael Phelps broke the Olympic World Record in the 200 meter freestyle when he hit the wall in 1:42.96 to shatter his own world record by 0.90 seconds on Tuesday.
It looks like NBC’s $900 million payout for the U.S. broadcast rights of the 2008 Olympics was a good move. According to a new report, NBC’s Olympics coverage is drawing huge audiences. Beijing 2008 could set some record TV ratings for NBC!
South Korea’s Park Tae-Hwan took silver and American Peter Vanderkaay the bronze.
The 23-year-old’s first Olympic freestyle title, after success in butterfly and medley, also made him the first male swimmer to win five individual titles.

Breaking Lips, Eye Sockets, and Nose Cartilage in ‘Facebreakers’
July 15, 2008
[singlepic=133,600,350,,]
If you’re looking for the next ‘Illegally stuffed gloves’ ‘FUN’ boxing game, Facebreakers, for the PS3, Wii, and X360, is it. It has the style of Ready 2 Rumble with the same team that developed Fight Night Round 3. Rumor has it that ‘Facebreakers’ was the reason Nintendo is “supposedly” working on Punch Out!!! Wii. We’ve supplied some screens that promise good graphics with scary looking characters. That Papa Shango guy gives me the heebie jeebies.
Noel Gallagher of Oasis Links Knife Crime to Violent Video Games
July 7, 2008
The small buzz today concerns the comments made by Noel Gallagher concerning video games and violence. Keep in mind that Gallagher has been known to make controversial statements to the press over the years. Here’s what he had to say on this topic:
“People say it’s through violent video games and I guess that’s got something to do with it,” said Gallagher. “If kids are sitting up all night smoking super skunk [cannabis] and they come so desensitised to crime because they’re playing these video games, it’s really, really scary.”
Are video games to blame for knife crimes in the UK? I highly doubt it. It is true that games can desensitize players to violence (to a very small degree), but it’s irresponsible to place the blame on any form of entertainment. I’m not quite sure how cannabis can contribute to violent crimes though. The most violent crime I have ever seen someone commit while under the influence of weed was stealing cookies. Perhaps they are lacing their smoking products in the UK with some kind of violent behavior inducing chemical. Who knows… It’s unfortunate we live in a society that no longer believes in personal responsibility…

Game Review: ‘Don King Presents: Prizefighter’ (Xbox 360)
July 4, 2008
[ad#ad-1]
Don King is certainly one of those characters in this world that you love to hate. His odd hairdo, weird personality and use of his own slang words certainly is enough to excite most people, whether they like him or not. When Don promised us that ‘Prizefighter’ would be the “most realistic boxing video game in history”, I got excited even though I didn’t really believe him. With that said, ‘Don King Presents: Prizefighter’ doesn’t quite make it into the same league as the Fight Night series from EA.
