If you have followed my writing over the past few years, you wouldn’t be surprised to find out that I’m not the biggest Nintendo Wii fan on the planet. When I hear people talking about how it’s the greatest console ever, I just find it extremely difficult to understand how they could possibly think this. Nintendo fanboys sometimes remind me of women with battered person syndrome. The Wii is basically like a busted crack head who beats his wife (the Nintendo Wii fanboy) yet she still loves him for some reason. It simply does not make the least bit of sense. Don’t take my post too personal. I still enjoy certain aspects of the Wii. I just find that it’s a highly flawed system that receives far more kudos than it should have.

[ad#ad-1]

I think it’s cool when video games make such an impact that they’re turned into “Blockbuster Movies”. Super Mario Bros., Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat and Resident Evil are great examples. Wikipedia has the full list. So i figured, if any video game could be turned into a movie ‘Mike Tyson’s Punch Out!!’ could be it. Without further ado, I present to you the cast of Mike Tyson’s Punch Out!! starring:

Minor Circuit

Glass Joe … Owen Wilson

We start off with Owen Wilson playing the underrated 1-99 Glass Joe. Sure Glass lost a few, but I’m sure Owen can capture his charismatic timid self as Joe. We’ve never seen Owen as a boxer, but then again he does have a permanent broken nose. An implanted chin clef wouldn’t hurt too.

Von Kaiser… Tom Selleck

Three men and a little lady was pathetic, just as much as Tom’s mustache compared to Kaiser’s. A small applicator of Just for Men, red dye #2, and a little grease to oil up his stache tips might turn his performance into a great German Boxer.

Piston Honda… Jason Scott Lee

After ‘Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story’, Jason Scott Lee can pretty much nail down any Asian Martial Artist. Strap some leather gloves on him and what you see is the ideal Piston Honda. I dare you to find a better match!

Coming to a next generation console near you PS3 and X360 in 2009 is the recently announced ‘Fight Night Round 4′.  After many days of researching the confirmed roster, we have gathered and confirmed this information with our EA contact.  Unfortunately, the list is not complete but we’re working on it.

For the first time featured in a video game in nearly a decade is “Iron” Mike Tyson. The Tyson we all love, Young Mike Tyson, will surely knock us on our a** without the strategic blinking.  If you grew up in the 80’s Mike Tyson was one of the most feared boxers in the ring.  His uppercut was devastating and his power was unmatched.

Our confirmed 13 fighters listed to-date, are great fighters I’m sure you’ll enjoy controlling.  Below are the fighters and the First Look at Mike Tyson in Fight Night Round 4:

Mike Tyson
Muhammad Ali
Joe Frazier
Rocky Marciano…

Do you like to punch people in the face? If so, EA’s Facebreaker may be the game for you. The following video shows off some of the intense and comical gameplay from the upcoming title. This game may be the boxing title that does for next-gen gaming what Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!! did for old school gaming.

In an effort to increase the quality of videos on our site, we have decided to start uploading our video files to our page on Veoh.com.  I think we can all agree that the quality is superior to YouTube.  Hopefully, we’ll develop our own media player in the future, but for now we’ll stick to using 3rd party upload sites.
