The Sony PSP has been my top choice for portable gaming since it came out. With the Nintendo DSi around the corner, I may have to start thinking about the options. My love for the PSP is centered around my desire for homebrew. It looks like the DSi could turn out to be a great homebrew system. Wondering what the Nintendo DSi has in store for us? Check out the following video and wonder no more…
The Nintendo DSi video is in Japanese, but it still gives a look at some features we should expect!
Spore will get its first expansion pack as soon as November 18th with Spore Creepy & Cute Parts.
In our very first Mac post, we bring to you screens from the upcoming Spore add-on named Space stage expansion pack (Spring ‘09) and Spore Creepy & Cute Parts Pack (November 18th ‘08). We’re excited to see a game that has harvested enough effort on the Mac as they did for the PC. And what a great game to use. Spore was such a hit this year thanks largely to the very popular customizable Spore Creature Creator. Who wouldn’t love a Creature Creator that can make Bowser.
Love it or hate it, Madden NFL 09 has been another crushing success for the EA franchise. Perhaps that’s because there’s no competition whatsoever, but we could sit here and speculate all day. According to VG Chartz, the current #1, #2 and #3 American top-selling game is Madden 09.
Does this surprise anyone? I’d hope not. The Madden franchise will continue to dominate the market each year until they have some kind of competition. With the current deal they have with the NFL, I wonder if the day of competition will ever come…
GoNintendo recently posted an interesting article titled ‘Why is the Wii so unloved compared to PS3 & Xbox 360?’ While hate is a strong word, there are plenty of reasons that the Wii isn’t getting as much love from certain gamers and game media outlets. When I sit back and try to think of the really good games on the Wii, I can only name a handful. If you want me to list the terrible Wii games, that would be over 90% of the games released for the system. The graphics are mediocre and last-generation at best. Nintendo has pretty much abandoned the core gamer with the Wii and gone in the direction of mass market appeal, which they have obviously had tons of success with. I can’t knock Nintendo entirely, because they have made some sound business decisions. Sometimes the minority is left out in these decisions, even if the minority is the reason Nintendo had huge success back in the 1980s and 1990s. Continue reading »
We just received an interesting press release announcing ‘Clueless’, ‘Mean Girls’ & ‘Pretty In Pink’ the video games. I guess this is something we didn’t see coming, so it’s certainly interesting news. Check out screens from ‘Clueless’ and ‘Mean Girls’ below along with an early shot from ‘Pretty In Pink’. Full press release follows the images…
LOS ANGELES—July 22, 2008—Paramount Digital Entertainment and Legacy
Interactive announced today that they are developing titles based on the
popular Paramount Pictures’ films Clueless, Mean Girls and Pretty in Pink.
It’s not surprising that Player X and Paramount just launched the game ‘The Love Guru’ for mobile phones. They are making the game available through more than 140 carriers, making it accessible to over 2.3 billion people. We don’t know a lot about the game here, but we do know that the title is made up of 6 mini-games where you try to beat various mental challenges to achieve total enlightenment. As an interesting side note, we do know Jessica Alba is a gamer, so I’d definitely like to get her thoughts on the game. We sent her an email, so will see if we ever get a response…
“We’re delighted to be working with Paramount Digital Entertainment on The Love Guru. A Mike Myers’ movie is a big event and we have worked very closely with Paramount Pictures to ensure the game matches the quality, humour and originality of the movie,” said Tony Pearce, Player X CEO.
We sure love our video games at Kezins, but that’s not all we do. Some of us, like this writer, love our musics so much that we’ve opened up our own recording studio, Vesuvius Records, in sunny Southern California. The above poster is for our first show at “The Office” in Rialto, CA.
If you’re in the area make sure to drop by and take in the greatness that is our local music. Electric Gentlephones reminds our own Jesper of Acid Mother’s Temple and he KNOWS good music.
I just discovered one of the funniest videos I have ever seen. In the video, several British dudes attempt to travel through Alabama without getting shot or arrested. The catch is that they also try to bring as much attention to themselves as possible. With things like “NASCAR Sucks”, “Hillary For President” and “Man Love Rules” written on the side of their vehicles, I’m shocked they actually made it out alive. The video does end in a sad note when they finally escape their Alabama adventure and end up in New Orleans. They made a comment about how they thought the richest country in the world should have been able to rebuild the areas there and help the people of New Orleans with all the time that has passed. But this is America and people have to realize we have long term memory loss.
Sadly, Flavor Of Love came to an end once again, but we’ll continue to find out more about the girls who were on the show in the next few months. Recently, Candace “Black” Cabrera sat down and played GTA IV with our friends, the Konsole Kingz. According to them, she’s an active gamer and recently finished playing Uncharted, probably my favorite PS3 game. Check out the via link below and check out their blog.
