Hmmph, and you thought the deals were over cause Black Friday past? Nope, I got 6 PS3 deals on LittleBigPlanet, Grand Theft Auto 4, Metal Gear Solid 4, LEGO Indiana Jones, Saints Row 2, Rock Band 2 and more. The best deal in my opinion has got to be the $40 deal for LBP. We here at Kezins have not reviewed the game yet, but maybe this will force us to buy… cause of the price of course. Check em out:

Weekly Drop-List

Proving that they can’t let a milking opportunity pass them by, Square Enix releases the remake of a GBA game, Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories, this week. Might not include Kingdom Hearts II like the Japanese version released a year and half ago did but it comes at a friendly price: $29.99.

Other remakes/re-releases include GTA IV for PC (now with added video editor!) and Prince of Persia which looks to be the last big title of the fall.

The full drop-list after the break… Continue reading »

Hitting Xbox Live on February 17

Sure, they missed the rumored November launch for the Grand Theft Auto IV DLC, but Rockstar has put an end to that web of lies today. The first downloadable pack for the game, entitled “Lost and Damned,” will be out on February 17, 2009 (Hey, same day as Street Fighter IV!).

The developer sent out a press release with a few screenshots (one of which you can see above) and will revolve around a new character and story thread. Interesting to see them expand on the universe a bit more through a new set of eyes. We’ll see how it pans out when the first of two exclusive, 360 episodes hits next year.

These Rockstar guys have a great sense of humor, check out my favorite Bronze Trophy -Warm Coffee — You were invited into your girlfriend’s house.  Check out the Silver, Gold, and Platinum Trophy List below:

I absolutely loved Grand Theft Auto IV… for about a week.  While it was a really cool game with the most interesting characters the series ever had, GTA IV simply didn’t have much of a lasting appeal for me.  Was the game one of the most over-rated titles in history?  I’d probably have to say it certainly was.  Looking back, I’d probably give it somewhere in the ballpark of an 87/100.  It wasn’t a bad game.  It was actually pretty good, but it certainly wasn’t the greatest thing since sliced bread that most sites cracked it up to be.  While two of the other writers on our site are big GTA fans, I guess I’m not.  I was curious to find out how many of our readers planned on picking up the DLC coming out soon.

I guess what really killed my interest in the game was the repetitive nature of the missions.  While it was a sort-of free roaming game, it wasn’t quite what I expected.  I really expected more freedom instead of a linear and repetitive story.  The online multiplayer aspect had potential, but fell way short.   For these reasons, I might not even bother with the DLC.  It was fun while it lasted, but I was over GTA IV long ago…

I’ve seen some unfortunate landings during my time in Liberty City but the above crash certainly outdoes the typical blunder.  When taking short cuts in Liberty City, you honestly never know what random event will take place.  Many people love the GTA series for the outlandish humor and violence, but I continue playing for the random sequences of events that you control.  Even when you think everything is going your way, something crazy will happen.  This is what the author of the video has to say about the events:

I just completed a mission and was driving back when I thought I would make a short cut. Turns out I couldn’t of picked the worst place to cut through.

Hey folks, Kezins here with the *OFFICIAL* announcement of our Grand Theft Auto IV giveaway! One lucky reader of our blog is going to be the proud owner of a brand-spankin’ new copy of GTA IV for Xbox 360. As usual, there are some rules you all have to follow to make sure this is a nice, clean giveaway. This contest is open to anyone who is not on our current staff list! You must be 18 years of age to be considered. Rules:

  • In order to submit a contest entry, readers simply need to comment on the blog fromMarch 26, 2008 until April 29th, 2008 at 12:00 p.m. EST.
  • Any comment on any article will be counted as an entry, so comment often! Make sure you use a working email address for the comment field! If we can’t contact you, the prize will automatically go to a second drawing.
  • Only legitimate comments will be counted towards the contest. So no “Cool” or “Fag” comments. We’re giving this thing away for free, so the least you can do is make a coherent sentence.
  • At the end of the contest, all of the comments will be tallied and be put in a huge sack. I personally will pass by the local drug store, where a bum on the corner will be tricked into picking out a comment, thinking there’s some yummy alcohol in the bag; Bum will pull out comment, winner will be chosen, and I shall thank the bum by throwing iced coffee at his bag of clothes. Just kidding. We will have a third party select a comment number at random.
  • Barring any more release delays by Rockstar, we will ship the game to the winner of our comment contest on April 29 (as soon as we contact the winner via email and receive a shipping address) to any location in the United States or Canada. The only exception to the shipping rule will be for any deployed soldiers who have a legitimate APO/FPO address we can send it to. As a combat veteran myself, I’d certainly not keep any of our soldiers out of the contest just because they are deployed.

[Using Random.org's integer generator, a winner has been randomly selected.  All comments were counted as entries and the lucky winner is Allegra.  Allegra has been contacted and will be shipped the Special Edition Grand Theft Auto IV once we have proper shipping information.  I'd like to thank everyone who participated and we're sad that we couldn't give one away to everyone.  Don't be too sad though.  We plan to continue with our random comment contest in the near future and already have a few possible prizes.  Stay tuned for more information on that!]
