The game shopping deals continue to come in today. I just located Resident Evil 4 (Nintendo Wii) for $9.95 $19.95 on Amazon. Most $9.95 game deals are for games that should be priced $9.95. If you haven’t played RE4 yet, I’d certainly suggest taking advantage of the deal.
It looks like Famitsu continues warming up to various Nintendo Wii titles. They have given 428 ~Fuusa Sareta Shibuya de~ a perfect score. Kotaku wrote up an interesting article on the topic. While the Wii certainly isn’t the hard-core gaming system some wish it was, it’s certainly building a respectable game library. I’ll admit that Famitsu tends to give games higher scores than they deserve, but it’s still an accomplishment that Nintendo is receiving some of these perfects…
Just when we thought games couldn’t get worse, we just read an article about Vagina Hero for the Xbox 360, PS3 and Nintendo Wii systems. This isn’t a real game, but the article at Ripten is worth a look. We’re not quite sure what the guys at Ripten are smoking these days, but we want some…
The PlayStation 3 Wireless keypad is coming December 15th, and now’s the time to order it.
If you’re annoyed with PlayStation 3’s on-screen keyboard, but still like to chat, here’s the solution. You can now pre-order the PlayStation 3 Wireless keypad. With the upcoming PlayStation HOME, this little gadget can be a neat add-on. I feel like a commercial, but I do have to say that I’ve tested this out and if you play games that require a lot of chatter, you’ll benefit using it. Viva Le Chatter! <- That didn’t make any sense…
Sony will make Trophies mandatory in ‘09; no more post-release patches.
“Give them their stupid Trophies”
Beginning in 2009, expect any new released game on the PlayStation 3 to have Trophies built in and ready to achieve. It seems like Sony has allowed developers to create patches for games after it has been released. In my opinion, this post-release patch is a nuisance to gamers. Although Trophies represent your progress and overall experience in the game, many hardcore gamers feel it’s a nice to have and not a requirement.
PS3 games like Uncharted: Drakes Fortune used their built-in trophies and made them PlayStation 3 trophies. Some gamers who played Uncharted when it was released found themselves cracking the game open again to achieve their PS3 Trophies, since Sony chose not make them to retroactive.

WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2008 was a terrible game I traded to GameStop less than 24 hours after I picked it up. You’ve probably been wondering if 2009 would be a better game and after several days of playing the new title, I now have an answer for you.
When it comes to wrestling, we haven’t seen a good option on Nintendo systems since the good old days of the N64. It looks like the dry days of bad wrestling on Nintendo may have finally come to an end. While the game is still better on the PS3, if Nintendo is your thing, the Wii version ia surprisingly good.
THQ Statement:
WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2009 for Wii builds upon its inaugural offering by significantly expanding its match type options, giving players more ways to enjoy the platform’s unique pick-up-and-play experience. The game also takes full combat sports entertainment to the next level by giving players more Superstar control with interactive entrances and victory scenes. WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2009 for Wii also includes a wide variety of new weapons, the debut of online gameplay and much more.
Share your Screens of Gears of War 2!
Many of you Xbox 360 gamers already know that today is Gears of War 2 Day. But many of you may NOT know of the nifty feature in Gears of War 2 that allows you to upload and share your pics. Well, my bro Daniel aka BibitoB at 1up.com wrote up a nifty and easy to follow post showing you just how to do that.
“One thing I wanted to point out today was the fact that you can take pictures in Gears of War 2 and upload them online. It’s pretty simple too. First of all, in order to be an in-game photographer, you have to die. Whether it be accidental or on purpose is your decision, although I recommend you play a local game with bots so you don’t piss off too many people for running straight at an enemy with a grenade launcher all for the sake of being able to snap some pics. Also, the best kind of multiplayer mode to choose for this is the Execution mode since games tend to last longer due to the only way an enemy can be killed is through an execution. Plus, the executions make for some damn good pictures.”
Killing yousrself for the sake of a great picture?!? Geez, what photographers go through for that perfect shot!

In this installment, The Sess discusses the epic themes of apocalyptic conquest that we have all become accustomed to while playing our favorite interactive media experiences and the climax that they move towards in their story arc. Do games reach the same final high point that films and novels strive for? Or is the development process hindering them from reaching a high-water mark that other forms of storytelling can achieve? Listen to the man spit some knowledge and let us know what you think.
