We thought we had seen all of the cheap Guitar Hero knockoffs but yet another one pops up.  This time it’s Guitar Praise for the PC.  Unlike other GH knockoffs, this one actually costs more than the real thing with the price tag of $99.95.  You can currently pick up Guitar Hero III (PC) with guitar for about $70.  I guess if you want to rock out with Jesus, you’ll be paying extra.

You can pre-order this game to make sure you get your copy in September from the company website. Here’s their description of the experience:

Grab the guitar and play along with top Christian bands! Shred those riffs or blast the bass…you add a unique sound to the solid Christian rock. But watch out: if you can’t keep up, the artists will take a break and stop the music. Crank it up and try again youll soon be rockin’ with the best while praising the Lord!  Order the second guitar and jam with a friend!

Here’s the playlist via Gizmodo (I haven’t heard of any of these people):

In the upcoming election, it is a battle of image; it is also a battle of ego versus inspiration. In terms of preserving our young republic, we are a critical moment, will we be the industrious, innovative trail blazers of the past, or will we continue to run the country into the ground with ‘ego’ based policy.
You are probably wondering what I mean by ‘ego’ based policy. To me, it means a policy that is based on pride and posturing. It is a mentality of adolescence. In my middle school years, I would get in a fight over a crush with a friend, or would let the air out of a friend’s tires for disagreeing on where to go in a friendly bike ride. What is my point? The point is, those things are a normal part of development if you are 12 years old. Those types of behavior are not normal if you are the leader of the presumed powerhouse of the world.

John McCain has made it clear through his posturing that he wants to expand the U.S. Empire. He has made it clear that he is willing to attack a country based on minor insults or upon a rumor of hearing something he feels is disrespectful. Like I said, that is ok if you are 12 years old, the problem is, there are no ‘take backs’ when the missiles start to fly.

Trophies, TROPHIES, we don’t need no stinkin’ TROPHIES!!!

PlayStation 3 fans, will be happy to hear today that Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune has joined the ranks of “Trophy Worthy” games.  Now’s a good time to get Uncharted back from your friend and get those damn Trophies.  Couple of facts with Drake’s Trophies:

  • First PS3 game with Platinum Trophy
  • Total of 48 Trophies
  • Uncharted Medals are the same PS3 Trophies.  (I guess since Uncharted already had medals, they were easily made PS3 Trophies
  • Trophies aren’t retroactive (If you got a trophy yesterday, you’ll have to get it again today)

One thing everyone should note, as our co-president Evan Wells told Joystiq during E3, is that we weren’t able to award Trophies retroactively through this patch. This was done so that everyone receives their Trophies fairly and can’t take advantage of the game saves we’ve seen floating around. That means you will have to start a brand new game—without any medals or rewards unlocked—and play through Uncharted to get Trophies.

Latest info is that Sony will not release this Firmware update until closer to E3. What a better way to greet all the E3 nerds than to say, “You’re here and you can’t see the firmware we just released to everyone else.” Unless they’re flying to LA with their PS3’s… doubt it or they go to the Sony booth, damn you E3 nerds!!!. Anywho, Here’s what you can expect through XMB:

* Friend category
* View, send, receive messages
* Manage downloads
* Set the vibration feature of the controller
* Sign in to PlayStation Network
* Register friends
* Manage Bluetooth devices
* Terminate the game

My title wasn’t supposed to sound like Borat, and although I thought about re-writing it, I didn’t. Success! Anywho, Google announced a new service that helps website owners grow traffic by enabling any site on the web to easily provide social features for its visitors.

While this service is currently available through plugins, Google promises that “Friend Connect” will be programless (is that a word?). And we all know, where Google goes, everyone follows.

Websites that are not social networks may still want to be social — and now they can be, easily. With Google Friend Connect (see http://www.google.com/friendconnect), any website owner can add a snippet of code to his or her site and get social features up and running immediately without programming — picking and choosing from built-in functionality like user registration, invitations, members gallery, message posting, and reviews, as well as third-party applications built by the OpenSocial developer community.

Visitors to any site using Google Friend Connect will be able to see, invite, and interact with new friends, or, using secure authorization APIs, with existing friends from social sites on the web, including Facebook, Google Talk, hi5, orkut, Plaxo, and more.

For Site Owners: Traffic and User Engagement

Without requiring coding experience, Google Friend Connect gives site owners a way to attract and engage more people by giving visitors a way to connect with friends on their websites.

* Drive traffic: people who discover interesting sites can bring their friends with them, and can opt-in to publish their activities on those sites back into their social network, attracting even more visitors.
* Increase engagement: access to friends and OpenSocial applications provides more interesting content and richer social experiences.
* Less work: any site can have social components without hiring a programming team or becoming a social network.

Google Friend Connect is in a preview release, available tonight after Campfire One on a handful of whitelisted websites. All site owners interested in learning more about Google Friend Connect and signing up for the wait list can visit http://www.google.com/friendconnect/ starting tonight. In the weeks ahead we will be turning on more sites, adding more social applications, and integrating feedback from site owners and developers.

Currently, the “Friend Connect” site is not running. But here’s what you can expect:
