I’ve created a top 10 list for you that is chock full of Easter Egg surprises without the tin foil. We all have played and beaten games, but did you ever take a minute to wonder if maybe there’s more to the game than you knew. Reminiscing that my childhood video games were sitting on the shelves at that time unplayed yet still full of Easter Egg life ticks me off. But it’s never too late to go back and try these Video Game Easter Eggs, after all there should be an Old School Sunday (OSS) article around here somewhere.

10. Legend of Zelda

The Egg: When you start the game type in “Zelda” as your character name to unlock the 2nd quest mode.
The System: NES
Don’t expect to breeze through this game these monsters are tougher and items are more difficult to get. Don’t believe me try the game here. Nintendo8.com has every NES game all in flash. Pretty awesome site if you ask me.

9. Monkey Island Series

The Egg: Hit Ctrl+W to beat the game.
The System: PC
For those players who could not take the insults anymore, this code allowed you to simply…beat the game. This code worked in ALL Monkey islands, and I’m glad it’s not THAT publicly known. The Monkey island series were fun, puzzle style PC games that mixed in humor. Why on earth would anyone want to hit those key combination’s is beyond me, but now you know! You Cheater!
