While surfing YouTube for new gaming videos, I came across one titled “How To Download Nintendo Wii Games On Your PC 100% Free”. I see these kinds of videos all the time and they usually take you to some random Warez site that will try give you a free virus instead of a free game download. It looks like Anasayfa - TRfighters site advertised in the following video features a “legitimate” collection of pirated ROMs. Calling a pirate site “legitimate” is an oxymoron in ways, but it’s certainly not as shady as most I have seen. What surprised me about the site is the fact that it’s not in English, yet I easily found my way around their pages.

I’d like to note that downloading Wii games to play on your PC is highly illegal and we’re not endorsing the action of pirating software or games. I thought some of you might find the video interesting. I’m sure YouTube will pull it before long.

People have been talking about a “Gamer Bill of Rights” for years and now and PC Stardock Publisher just released their idea for a bill at PAX. While I certainly think gamers need rights, I’m not so sure we need a bill of any kind. We should simply be protected like all other consumers. Here is Stardock’s bill and my opinion in blue.

ArchLord is one of the more popular free-to-play MMOs currently on the scene. They reached the half a million player mark back in May after Codemasters changed the subscription model to “free-to-play”. Episode 3: Spirits Awakening (expansion) was released recently and is free to download for existing and new players. KOEI announced today that a free demo of Romance of The Three Kingdoms®XI (RTKXI) for Windows-based PC is available now. Gamers can visit www.koei.com/rtkxipc to view the official trailer and download the demo.  I’ve only had about 30 minutes to check out the demo, but it’s certainly getting me excited about the game.  It seems like I was playing the original game yesterday.  Of course yesterday was the 1980s and I was playing it on an Amiga.  XI has been around for a little while, but this is the first time we’ll see a PC version of the game in English. 

The complete version of the game will be available to consumers in North America and Brazil beginning September 9, 2008 exclusively through digital download.  I’m sure the game will eventually end up in stores, but online will be the only way to get it in the beginning.  The suggested retail price is only $19.99, so the game isn’t a bad buy for what you are getting.

Overclocked Remix decide to offer gamers “Final Fantasy VII: Voices of the Lifestream”. The album features free fan arrangements of FF songs with over 45 tracks from 40 various artists, all based on the official FF VII soundtrack.  While fan-made albums are often terrible, this one is certainly worth the free download.  In many ways, it’s superior to the official product.

The styles include jazz, new age, techno, rock and classical. In other words, there’s something for everyone on Voices of the Lifestream.  If you love music and love Final Fantasy, there’s no reason not to download this!  You can download this album at FF7:VotL Torrent (2.32GB).

There’s been recent rumblings about what the final set list will be for Rock Band 2 but more interesting, at least for this writer, is what else the game will provide right out of the box.

IGN reports (via Kotaku) that when gamers take home and open up their shiny new Rock Band 2 game this fall, you’ll be able to download the first game’s complete set list…for FREE.

Gamestop might just get a sudden influx of Rock Band discs as Activision EA will be relieving the slight inconvenience of disc-swapping. Rocking out will suffer no delays.
