We’ve been seeing this story making the rounds online, but we decided to hold off on said postage from the lack of info. Well, for now at least, we know that GameStop and Amazon have kicked off their pre-order program for the upcoming LittleBigPlanet on PS3.

Those of you going with the lesser of two evils (in this case, Amazon) will get a Brady Games-sanctioned “LittleBigPlanet Creator” miniguide when the game ships out to you. GameStop patrons will be able to get their hands on an in-game Kratos, of God of War fame, which is actually split in four different parts: skin, goatee, blades and clothing.

As much as we adore GameStop’s “excellent” customer service, we have to hand it to them…they have the better deal — plus, no waiting to get your create-a-level on with shipping shenanigans.

What pre-order bonus are you guys going for?

In an interview with Gamasutra, Simon Jeffery, CEO of Sega of America, let out that Yu Suzuki is no longer with the company. Yu Suzuki was the creator of Virtua Fighter, Outrun, and his bank-breaking project Shenmue, as well as other games.

Virtua Fighter 5 was not directed by Suzuki so that series should be safe to continue, but it adds another nail to Shenmue III’s coffin — the game fans have been clamoring for since the sequel barely made it stateside on Xbox.

This writer dug the first Shenmue on Dreamcast in 2000 which made use of a cheesy soap-opera story and quick-time events that were later used in God of War and Resident Evil 4. It also had probably the best forklift racing, if only, in a video game. What do you guys think of the series? Or is further proof of its “never being released” status meaningless to you?

The Spore creatures keep rolling in this week.  The above creature definitely deserves some credit for being unique and creative.  It doesn’t really look like an eagle, but it’s definitely bird-like and makes some odd sounds.  Spore may be the single game this year that captures the most of our imagination.  The video clip was submitted to YouTube by TheSwordUser.

Available today on www.spore.com you can get your chance to create your own thingamajig or whatever they call it a “Spore”. Mark Crilley, the creator of ‘Miki Falls’ recently posted a great instructional video on YouTube showing people 100 ways to draw Manga eyes.  I’ve watched hundreds of these types of videos on the net and this is certainly one of the better ones.  If you have any interest in learning how to draw Manga, it’s worth a view.

No more Ninja Gaiden or Dead or Alive games…at least, no more at the hands of the original creator for those series, Tomonobu Itagaki. The man that has headed Team Ninja with his rock steady demeanor at Tecmo has sent out a statement letting us know that he plans on resigning from the company effective July 1st.

Some of his motives for quitting the company are the denial of bonuses promised to him for Dead or Alive 4, “demeaning remarks about [him] to [his] subordinates and colleagues,” and are mostly directed at Tecmo’s President, Yoshimi Yasuda.

1up.com speculates that some of the blood boiling between Tecmo and Itagaki may have started with the growing focus at the company to turn profits (i.e. Ninja Gaiden Sigma, which is essentially the same game from the original Xbox) and lessening efforts on original, quality products.

Sad to see the gore visionary go, but Itagaki is sure to fall on his feet soon to continue his violent-game tradition — just don’t expect them to have “Ninja Gaiden” or “Dead or Alive” in the title.
