Old-school SEGA Saturn players might remember a cool game titled ‘Death Tank’.  It was actually a hidden game inside Duke Nukem 3D (Death Tank Zwei) and PowerSlave (Death Tank).  Although it was simple, it was hours and hours of fun.  The XBLA version will have numerous upgrades and 4-player online play.  The basic premise of the game is to take out enemy tanks on the landscape before they take you out.  It’s a lot like classic Battleship because it was turn-based.  If you missed, you’d basically just have to sit back and wait to see if they hit you.  While some may consider this an unrealistic aspect, I felt it added to the suspense.  If you like Scorched Earth or Worms, this is your kind of game.

One of the cool aspects of Soulcalibur IV is the critical finish moves. Unfortunately, it’s kind of hard figuring out how exactly to use the damn systems. I’ve been playing SC IV for a while now and finally pulled off my first critical finish. It wasn’t as hard as I was making it out to be. Here’s the steps you’ll need to take:

  1. Wait for your opponent’s “soul gauge” to flash red.
  2. Engage them with a strong attack.  If you land a strong attack while your enemy is blocking or execute a “guard impact” when they are attacking you, you have just completed what’s called a “soul crush”.
  3. For a very short moment, your opponent will flash red (their bar will be flashing red and their character will flash red).  Tap the Left Button immediately and if you were quick enough, the fight will be over as you destroy them with a critical finish.  Just make sure you tap it quickly, because there’s not much room for error.
That’s really all there is to critical finishes.  It took me some time to figure that out on my own.  At first, I was trying to tap the LB just when their meter was flashing red and nothing would happen.  Perform 100 critical finishes during your time with SC IV and it’s worth 30 Gamerscore.

[ad#ad-1]

I think it’s cool when video games make such an impact that they’re turned into “Blockbuster Movies”. Super Mario Bros., Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat and Resident Evil are great examples. Wikipedia has the full list. So i figured, if any video game could be turned into a movie ‘Mike Tyson’s Punch Out!!’ could be it. Without further ado, I present to you the cast of Mike Tyson’s Punch Out!! starring:

Minor Circuit

Glass Joe … Owen Wilson

We start off with Owen Wilson playing the underrated 1-99 Glass Joe. Sure Glass lost a few, but I’m sure Owen can capture his charismatic timid self as Joe. We’ve never seen Owen as a boxer, but then again he does have a permanent broken nose. An implanted chin clef wouldn’t hurt too.

Von Kaiser… Tom Selleck

Three men and a little lady was pathetic, just as much as Tom’s mustache compared to Kaiser’s. A small applicator of Just for Men, red dye #2, and a little grease to oil up his stache tips might turn his performance into a great German Boxer.

Piston Honda… Jason Scott Lee

After ‘Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story’, Jason Scott Lee can pretty much nail down any Asian Martial Artist. Strap some leather gloves on him and what you see is the ideal Piston Honda. I dare you to find a better match!

Hello Folks, it’s your favorite editor here to say… damn I forgot.  But while I’m writing, I figured let me keep our readers up to date with COOL avatars news.  What’s an avatar you ask?  Ok, if you’ve commented on our site you’ve probably have noticed the picture that shows up next to your name.  That’s an avatar.  If you hate your ‘triangle head, square head or circle head’ avatar, and would like to choose your own, go to gravatar.com

What is a gravatar?

A gravatar, or globally recognized avatar, is quite simply an avatar image that follows you from weblog to weblog appearing beside your name when you comment on gravatar enabled sites. Avatars help identify your posts on web forums, so why not on weblogs?

Kezins.com encourage all our readers to express your image with as much personality as possible.  We would love not like to see racy pics in your gravatar’s so, I guess keep em clean!

We’ll be searching for the coolest gravatar and anything with Star Wars, Punky Brewster or Braveheart win my vote!

I would have loved to check out the Nintendo Media Summit last week, but unfortunately they never invite me to any of their events. For whatever reason, Sony and Microsoft have always been kind towards me as a freelance writer, while Nintendo is just impossible to get even a quote from. Regardless, the following video shows off some cool things we have to look forward to in the future. I was also reading on Destructoid that they somehow weren’t invited either. What’s this world coming to?
