When it comes to video game characters, it’s hard not to love Mario.  The problem with Mario on the web is that just about everything that could possibly be done to him has already been done.  In the middle of an odd conversation about Ernst Ruska, the thought came to our heads that no one has ever posted (that we know of) an image of what Mario might look like under an electron microscope, so we decided to give it our best shot.

I’ve seen some great Zelda pieces over the years, and this has to be up there with the best. ‘Ocarina of Time’ was perhaps the best of all Zelda games and the Sheik had a little something to do with that.  The character is as mysterious now as he was back then.  ”The Sheik” by First4Figures is currently selling for $99.90 on Play-Asia and will probably not remain on the site for too long. The United States currently holds the most medals with 54, but there are still many medals to go in this year’s events.  China continues to dominate with 27 gold medals, so it may come down to the wire between the United States, China and possibly Australia.  Click on any of the links below to find more information on the Olympics at NBC.

For all you new Firefox 3 user’s out there, there a neat plug-in that brings most of your favorite NES roms to your browser. Now, I have to admit I like FCE Ultra emulator a bit better because it supports a joystick and ALL roms ( RiverCity Ransom is missing???). For the rest of you cheapo’s that can’t cough up $5 bucks for a Virtual Console release, FireNES has got you covered.

HOW TO PLAY NINTENDO GAMES IN FIREFOX 3

1) Get Firefox 3 (if you haven’t already you should be smacked)

2) Download the FireNES plugin.

3) Install FireNES and restart Firefox 3.

3b) You may get a pop up asking you if you want to disable or uninstall FireNES when Firefox 3 restarts. Do not do any of those things, simply close that pop up.

4) Click on Tools and scroll all the way down to “FireNES”. Select FireNES and a sidebar should pop up on the left side of your browser. This bar will feature a shit ton of classic Nintendo games.

5) To play the game of your choice, simply double click on it in the list.

5b) If the game does not load, you may need to install the latest version of Java which only takes a few seconds to install.

6) For instructions on which keys to press, right click on the title and select “options” from the pop up menu, then tab over to the “controls” tab.

7) Prepare to use the key combination of “Alt + Tab” to prevent getting caught playing videogames in your browser at work. Be smart, and there is no reason that this can’t remain our little secret.

Of course, all Homebrew Projects follow our Disclosure Policy… eww scaryyy.

Here’s the latest GameStop weekly ad for 6/6/08 through 6/12/08. There really isn’t anything exciting on this week’s deals for the most part, but a few caught my eye.

Haze has already dropped in price drastically, even though it’s still basically a new release.  We hated the game here at Kezins.com, but if it continues to drop in price, it might be worth the buy.  $39.99 may still be a bit high for the title.  When it hits $29.99, I’d say “pick it up”.

The only real deal of note is the 20% bonus trade-in credit towards MGS4.  I’m not big on trade-ins myself, but if you don’t have the cash to outright buy Metal Gear Solid 4, a trade-in is the way to go.  Konami may have some shady practices when it comes to marketing this title, but it’s still going to be the best available PS3 game for a while.  The way things are looking, it will be the top PS3 title of 2008.

Click on the above image for a larger view.  I have seen quite a few GTA IV comics hit the web in the past few weeks, but this one has to be the best by far.  The strange thing about my personal GTA experiences is that I tend to run over the most people when I’m not trying to.  After all, Grand Theft Auto has always been about the complete randomness of the chaos each individual experiences.  Just the other day, I jacked a car from this fat guy and he started running after me.  I decided to drive circles around him and amuse myself watching him pointlessly run in the circle following me.  Just as I was getting bored of the situation, a random car ran up on the curb and hit him mid-stride.  The driver got out and a scuffle started.  Next thing you know, the cops show up and a gun battle takes place.  After the battle was over, I leisurely walked over and picked up all the money from the dead bodies.  It’s thing like this that keep GTA IV interesting even when you’re just screwing around.
