2008 Olympics Medal Tally August 15; China Cheating?

August 15, 2008

Somehow China still leads in medal count for the 2008 Olympics, but that could all change soon. They were already caught cheating in gymnastics, so it’s possible some medals could be taken back from them. Some have stated that nearly half of the Chinese gymnastics team was NOT even eligible to compete.

Unfortunately, gymnastics is not the only arena where China has been accused of cheating. Apparently, accusations have been flying that they also cheated in shooting and boxing with unfair judging. With the amount of evidence already presented, I have to wonder if China’s cheating goes even deeper. We might be watching a rigged Olympics.

Do you think China is cheating?  Leave a comment below and let us know.  And yes we know that rhymed.

Rumor: Photos Of The New PSP Model (PSP-3000)

July 22, 2008

New images of the “PSP-3000″ originating from China have been all over the internet today. Many sites are claiming that this is proof that there is a new PSP model currently in production. The photos aren’t high quality enough for me to decide, so believing is up to you.  If these are correct by chance, it looks like it has a built-in mic and several changes to the physical appearance of the system.

Knights of the Old Republic 3 Coming Soon, LucasArts and BioWare working on MMO

July 17, 2008

Well, when we first reported that Knights of the Old Republic 3 was coming, we were right.  A report on Portfolio.com has confirmed that LucasArts and BioWare are working together to bring KOTOR 3 as an MMO (Massive Multiplayer Online).  In an interview at E3 this week, Electronic Arts chief executive John Riccitiello said that EA is working on the next version of Star Wars game Knights of the Old Republic, and it will most certainly have a massively multiplayer online component to it.

All we can say is “It’s about time!”.

We have the interview below:

We’ve All Heard it, The Wilhelm Scream: Video Games [UPDATED]

June 29, 2008

The faint yell you’ve heard in ALL 6 Star Wars films is the legendary scream called ‘The Wilhelm Scream’. After playing Grand Theft Auto, Metal Gear Solid 4 and God of War I and II, I can confirm the infamous scream is also in video games. After reading up on the history of ‘The Wilhelm Scream’ it seems it has been used in 170 movies, 15 TV shows and 26 38 37 48 53 Video Games. That sound is so noticeable that when I hear it on any media, I’ll instantly look at my wife for confirmation. Then we both ask “This movie has it too?”

Below are the list of video games that include ‘The Wilhelm Scream’:

  1. Ant City (When someone is run over by a car.)
  2. Army Of Two (During the China cutscene)
  3. Battlefield 2: Modern Combat
  4. Bionic Commando: Rearmed
  5. Call of Duty 2
  6. Civilization: Revolution (DS version)
  7. Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars (Occasionally when killing infantry)
  8. Dirk Valetine and the Fortress of Steam (Sometimes when you kill a guard)
  9. Dungeon Keeper (When a warlock is being tortured)
  10. Eragon (Demo: When Brom shoots the ropes holding the gate up and the gate collapses)
  11. Grand Theft Auto IV
  12. Grand Theft Auto:San Andreas (When you kill a gangster)
  13. God of War (When you kill the man holding the bridge on the Rooftops of Athens. Also during a later cinematic scene where Kratos leads his troops into a church)

Summer Olympics: Beijing 2008

June 24, 2008

Hot Dogs, 4th of July and ice cold lemonades… Summer is the best time of year to enjoy the great weather and live it up with your close friends and family. In America, the Olympics are our olde past time. We now have MLB, NFL, and the NBA as our main sport attractions. I feel the Summer Olympics bring us, the world, closer since we all send our best athletes for 3 weeks and compete as to who is the best from each country.

Above: The five mascots for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games include cartoon renditions of, from left, swallow, a panda, the Olympic flame, a Tibetan antelope and a fish, with each one the color of one of the Olympic rings.
