GameDaily HUD Worth Checking Out

August 15, 2008

GameDaily recently assembled some of the better game journalists in the business including my old blogging partner Daniel Perez of FileFront. If the last name sounds familiar, that’s because his brother Juan just happens to be the senior editor of Kezins.com. The discussions from the journalists are interesting, but I was wondering where I was when the invites were being handed out. Just kidding… The panel discussion was interesting as the journalists talked about what games they were currently playing. Check out the link below to find out what the writers are playing!

TrackMania DS In Action (Video)

August 4, 2008

After checking out the above video, I realized TrackMania may actually be a pretty good title for the Nintendo DS.  I’m typically against most portable racing games, but this one looks really nice.   It’s great that they continue releasing gameplay videos for the title, because screenshots rarely work as a good visual for portable games.  With more than 100 tracks, this game should provide plenty of action.

Soulcalibur IV Gives Its Little Secret Away?

July 29, 2008

And what secret might that be, you ask? Well, that Yoda and Darth Vader will cease to be exclusive for Xbox 360 and PS3, respectively, and join up down the line. Eagle-eyed gamers might have noticed that as soon as you boot up Soulcalibur IV, you’re prompted to make a save file AND soon after:

“Checking for downloadable content…”

Might it be checking for the inevitable release of Yoda and Darth Vader to cross-pollinate on both consoles? Or maybe just nice little hats for you to adorn your created character with down the line?

Voxelstein 3D: 1st Official Release

April 21, 2008

Name: Voxelstein 3D
Developer: Hans Krieg
Category: Action
Type: Freeware
Size: 30MB

This remake  was obviously based on ID’s FPS classic, created by Hans Krieg using the Voxlap engine. The game consists of only one short level, but is certainly worth checking out.  There’s just something about the limitless possibilities of remakes that keeps me always checking out what freeware titles are hitting the web each week.
