The Dark Knight exceeded most of my expectations and that’s primarily due to the awesome performance by Heath Ledger as “The Joker”.  The rest of the cast was “so-so” in my opinion, but it was certainly a much better film than “Begins” was.  Was Ledger a better Joker than Jack Nicholson?  I’d still say “no” but he was certainly creepier.  Nicholson was more realistic, yet Ledger was certainly crazier and more diabolical.  In the end, I’d have to say both performances were awesome.  Without Ledger as the Joker, ‘The Dark Knight’ would have been a boring film to watch.  Did anyone happen to notice Batman had a lisp while in costume, but no lisp when he was parading around as Bruce Wayne?  I’m not sure what difference it makes, but Christian Bale’s performance was total rubbish.  I’d probably rate his performances as Batman somewhere in the George Clooney category.  Fortunately we saw an incredible performance by Ledger that saved the film. He will certainly be missed.

“In the end, there will only be chaos”

Strong words from our favorite mythology hero, Kratos!  The trailer shows an overhead view of… well, Hell!  As you approach closer to the mountain you’ll see Kratos atop, with his chains and blades bounded to his arms.  This trailer shows a great in-game video, and was a brief teaser of what we can expect in the upcoming weeks.

Two new games have been added to the Xbox LIVE Arcade today.  The first game is ‘Elements of Destruction’ from THQ, where you get to take on the role of mother nature and manipulate the weather to cause chaos and destruction. Think of Sim City without having to balance the budget. The second is ‘Sea Life Safari’ from Sierra which is basically similar to Pokemon Snap.

Click on the above image for a larger view.  I have seen quite a few GTA IV comics hit the web in the past few weeks, but this one has to be the best by far.  The strange thing about my personal GTA experiences is that I tend to run over the most people when I’m not trying to.  After all, Grand Theft Auto has always been about the complete randomness of the chaos each individual experiences.  Just the other day, I jacked a car from this fat guy and he started running after me.  I decided to drive circles around him and amuse myself watching him pointlessly run in the circle following me.  Just as I was getting bored of the situation, a random car ran up on the curb and hit him mid-stride.  The driver got out and a scuffle started.  Next thing you know, the cops show up and a gun battle takes place.  After the battle was over, I leisurely walked over and picked up all the money from the dead bodies.  It’s thing like this that keep GTA IV interesting even when you’re just screwing around.
