Big Blue Bubble just announced that they’re bringing Canada’s favorite game on ice to WiiWare. ‘Hockey Allstar Shootout’ will be pretty much the first game of it’s kind on WiiWare. I’m not sure why they spell it “allstar” instead of “all star” but I guess that’s how they roll in Ontario. In this game, the Wii Remote will basically become your hockey stick as you compete in 3 different skills competitions.

The modes include Sharp Shooter where you break targets as quickly as you can, Power Shot where the hardest shot wins and Head to Head Shootout. I haven’t seen any videos or screens yet, but the game sounds interesting.

A new video from ‘Too Human’ has surfaced showing off some seriously insane combos.  The first part of the third-person action adventure game trilogy looks sweet so far.  ’Too Human’ is produced by Canadian developer Silicon Knights for the Xbox 360. Its current release date is set for August 19, 2008.  Who said nothing cool comes out of Canada?

If you a big Gears of War fan, this is one announcement you will certainly want to check out. Amazon.com will be the exclusive retailer for the Lancer replica and “Headshot” Locust Drone action figure in North America. The prices are a little high for some wallets, but they are probably worth every penny.

Dealing with remixes is a difficult task. How much of the original track is left in the mix? Is this even a remix, I can’t tell the difference? When Kylie Minogue decided to go the house/dance/pop-hybrid route on her new album, the result was mixed, no pun intended. The tracks that work really work, and the tracks that don’t are of course your run-of-the-mill pop anthems.

What is even more interesting to consider, however, is the amount of producers and artists who tend to flock to the remix table once a pop queen like Kylie invites them all with a thumping, dance beat record like X. The remixes for “In My Arms” and “Wow” are staggering in quality and melody, without a doubt made for the harder dance floors.

Canada’s MSTRKRFT make a habit out of remixing established artists, and their remix of Kylie’s “Wow” is, perhaps, the best damn song made for Audiosurf (with a notable exception of their remix of Justice’s “D.A.N.C.E.”).

Time to move on from the sludging, slow and melancholic post-rock/hardcore acts we’ve presented before, and go electronic here on Kezins. What better way to do that than with this awesome track from MSTRKRFT.

Five bucks to whoever beats my ninja high score…

Canadian police constables round up strippers after their shifts at the club and bring them back to the constable lounge for drinks after hours. Evidently, the lounge has vending machines filled with liquor and beer. No stripper pole was mentioned.

Wow. This wouldn’t happen in the US, as it is highly unimaginable any police department would have vending machines with liquor in them. Our liquor laws generally wouldn’t allow it. But DAMN CANADA! Mad props. I didn’t know you had it in you.

Rumors are starting to really fly from credible sources concerning Microsoft and E3.  Right now, we expect Microsoft to announce the future removal of gamer pics and the additions of “Mii-like avatars”.  We’re not sure what they are going to call them, but it’s the same little weird characters you get on the Nintendo Wii more or less.  The only other probable rumors is that they will be announcing a new 80GB 360 model and a price reduction for all other SKUs and accessories.  If you don’t have a 360 now, I’d suggest waiting until the end of summer when the price drops really start coming in…

Many of you already know that we are giving away a copy of Grand Theft Auto IV (360 edition) as part of our comment contest. I have some good news for all of you. After some careful thinking, I decided that there are a lot of people out there who would get more enjoyment from the Special Collector’s Edition of the game than I would. I have decided to go ahead and keep the complementary standard edition of the title for myself and give the winner my personal Special Collector’s Edition. It comes with some really cool stuff that I hate to part with, but I’m sure it will make someone’s day. All I ask in return is for the winner to send us a picture of them enjoying the game. That’s not required, but would certainly make our day in return.

It looks like Destructoid, GoNintendo, Gamersyde and Modojo have signed a deal with Hammersuit, LLC.  Hammersuit will provide advertising sales, consulting, sponsorships opportunities and other services for all four game sites.  I’m a big fan of each site, so this is certainly great news.  Independent gaming blogs are where the really good news is at, so I’m definitely happy this deal went down.  Full press release follows the break…
