We’re running up to the 1 year anniversary of Call of Duty 4, yet I think many aspects of the game “got some splainin’ to do!”

1. What are the Prestige Rankings?  Are there really ‘no’ benefits?

Let me briefly explain what the ‘Prestige Rankings’ mean.  Once you’ve gathered up enough points to reach level 55, you are prompted with a choice to ‘Prestige Mode’.  At this point you can submit and begin at level 1, or stay at level 55 and not rank up for a total of 10 times.  If you’ve entered ‘Prestige Mode’ you lose all your weapons and realize how much of a mistake it was.  Too late, no turning back,   I guess you’re only benefit are the icons.  Some clans require you to have a minimum Prestige Mode, before you can officially be ‘clan’d in’.  All 10 Prestige Icons from left to right.

2. Host Ended Game.

Ok, this aspect of the game has still “NOT” been fixed.  When you join an online game, most times you are joining a game that another online player is the host of.  When that player leaves the game, the room will close and you will get the message “Host Ended Game”.  If you’d like to avoid this and control you own playing time, join a game where you are the first and only player.  You will have to wait for other’s to join your room, but now you’re the host!

Four new Call of Duty 4 Playlists in testing, coming soon.  Playlists include: Bare-bones Team Deathmatch, Hardcore HQ, Multi-bomb Search and Destroy and Hardcore FFA

IAMfourzerotwo has released word that they’re working on new COD4 Playlists.  You know, the current playlists include Team Deathmatch, Free-for-all and Headquarters to name a few.  Right now there’s talk of 4 new Playlists, check them out below and a brief descrition of what to expect in them.

Bare-bones Team Deathmatch

No more excuses. No more blaming Martyrdom or Juggernaut for your lack of skills and kills. Bare Bones Team Deathmatch eliminates the excuses and takes it back to basics with standard Team Deathmatch with no perks, no kill streak rewards. Just you, your skill, and your weapons.

Hardcore HQ

Hardcore HQ requires a lot more than just spamming the HQ position with nades and running in guns blazing. Hardcore HQ encourages more tactical gameplay and communication to win with increased damage, no HUD elements, and friendly fire on.

Multi-bomb Search and Destroy

Multi-bomb Search and Destroy starts every member of the attacking team with a bomb. So everyone has the opportunity to plant if they’re good enough.

Hardcore FFA

Even faster paced Free For Alls, where every bullet counts and playing smart is key for a solid k/d ratio. Standard Free for All rules, with Hardcore mode enabled for extra damage, no HUD, and no health re-gen.

For a nominal price of $9.99 you can pick up your self 999 penny gums, with the Chinese fortune in it or 4 Call of Duty 4 maps. So after I spent $20, here I am with all this gum playing the new maps. Oh Yeah with Double XP Weekend!!!

Off the bat, Broadcast is my odds on favorite. It’s a map that is based on a news broadcast station, with the lights and cameras. Cubicles included too. Creek is a big sniper wielding map. If your looking for close quater combat this is not the map to do it in. Chinatown is the 2nd best map overall. You can hide out in buildings and the side streets have colorful Asian lights. Last but not least is Killzone. Think of it, Shipment but bigger! I also like to use the posters as my decoy, you’ll know what I mean when you play it.
