Although the animation system is in an early stage, the kind creators at Wolfire have posted a new video on their blog. The game they are working on titled Overgrowth certainly looks interesting so far. Overgrowth is a 3d action-adventure game coming to Mac, Windows and Linux
While working on the initial procedural movement animation, I took breaks every now and then to record videos of each stage. I started out just blocking out the movement controls and then added layers of complexity. The final animation in Overgrowth is going to look much better than the last scene in this video!
I’ve been thinking about my future in blogging and am fairly certain that I’ll never blog for a company again. I don’t make much money with my own blog, but it’s at least fun. Many of my friends ask me if I miss blogging for Ziff Davis Media. Honestly, the only thing I miss is the pay. The big mistake of blogging for a company is that you could end up turning something you enjoy into something you don’t enjoy so much. I have been out of corporate blogging for about 8 months and can honestly say I enjoy gaming more now.
I definitely plan to keep Kezins.com going forever, but highly doubt I’d go back to the grind of the corporate blog world…
Anyone who reads my blog probably knows that I am big on art. One of my favorite sites is deviantART, so I figured I’d start spotlighting the best art I come across. Here’s my choice for today:
2008 looks to be the year of the dog in role-playing games — and flamethrower in FPSs — as gamers can already attest to in Fable II. That guy is…just helpful! Growling when enemies approach and barking when treasure is present.
Anyway, this is about Fallout 3, the next game to exploit dog action. Dogmeat can find ammo, health and other assorted goodies in the world. 1up’s MyCheats put together a video on where to find him, which you can see after the break… Continue reading »
For those who tuned in yesterday, we reported all the nifty updates coming to the PS3 via the 2.50 update. We’ll our buddies at PlayStation Blog have shared the additional ggodies you’ll get in you bag.
“In addition to the features announced yesterday, Firmware 2.50 will feature Flash 9 support for the PS3’s browser, according to this post on the official PlayStation community forums.”
I started Kezins.com back in March and have been developing the project ever since. We’re currently in need of some volunteer bloggers who would like to get their feet wet in online blog journalism. I started out blogging on a volunteer basis myself until I moved on to work as a news editor and marketing assistant for Ziff Davis Game Media. I have since returned to the world of freelance blogging, but have enjoyed every moment of it.
If you are a gamer interested in having your opinions heard, we’re certainly looking for you. Kezins.com isn’t a strict site like most corporate outlets. There wouldn’t be any deadlines and we wouldn’t limit your creativity, as long as the material isn’t grossly obscene.
We desperately need some people who have interests in the following areas:
Nintendo DS
Sony PSP
PC Gaming
Retro Gaming
If any of those fit your interests, email kezins@kezins.com with what you’d be interested in doing and we’ll get back to you. While we do run some ads on the site, we’re not quite profitable yet. Once the site builds up and we begin to grow, some paid opportunities may open up.
“Dates-wise I also discovered that the first piece of GTA downloadable content will be arriving in November as well. Very little details were given but I was assured it would be sizable bringing roughly 15 hours of additional play time.” - Chris from RPG-TV
Kotaku pointed us to the above RPG-TV blog which gives us a clearer picture of when we can hope to get some more Grand Theft Auto’ing done.
Rockstar has previously stated that it would break a few price barriers when they released the exclusive Xbox 360 DLC this fall and, if the above is accurate, it looks like gamers will get their full money’s worth.
Would you guys mind paying more than premium prices (likely above $30) for an additional 15 hours of GTA IV content?

We recently talked with the Game Dame and decided to include links to her best stories every Friday here on the site. You may be wondering who the Game Dame is. She just happens to be one of the coolest gamers we know. We thought it would be a great idea to add a little female perspective to our blog. She has her own blog called “The Game Dame” that’s always full of interesting articles, posts and opinions of hers. Check out the links below and leave comments! Be warned that “MY EYES!!! THEY BURN!!!” may be something you don’t want to see. I’ve been trying for about an hour to get the image out of my mind.
As of now, nothing special to report. From the keyboard on PlayStations Blog:
“Just wanted to give everyone a quick heads up that a PS3 firmware update (v2.42) is now available for download. This update improves the playback quality of some PLAYSTATION 3 and PlayStation format software.”
Some sites were reporting the release of Life with PlayStation. Here is what Life with PlayStation is all about:
