According to Kotaku, a leaked Blockbusters memo has shown that the retailer will be dropping the price of the 40GB PS3 this weekend from $360 to $300.  This price reduction was first posted as a Sony price drop, then quickly changed to a Blockbuster price drop.  He said, she said…

Sony just sent out a press release letting us know that they will be making PlayStation Network cards widely available (kind of) in September. 7-Eleven, RiteAid, and Blockbuster will be stocking your PSN cards, funnily enough.

PSN cards — which start at $20 — have been spotted in the wild already at a few locations, but it’s a bit odd that Sony hasn’t shipped out any cards to the bigger retailers such as Wal-Mart, Target, or even, GameStop.

7-Eleven, out of those mentioned, seems like the most convenient. We can now shop for our favorite $3.59 “Sushi - Ready to Eat!” and a $20 PSN card (avoiding credit fees) at 3 o’clock in the morning! Just like it was always meant to be…

Codemasters® announces blockbuster Overlord sequel for the PLAYSTATION®3, Xbox 360, PC, plus exclusive extensions for Wii and Nintendo DS

The sequel to Overlord, Overlord II comes to the Wii, DS, and PS3 & X360.  Notice the ampersand?  That’s because the PS3 & X360 will be the same version of Overlord II.  While the Wii will be called Overlord Dark Legion, featuring minion control through Wii Remote movement.  And the DS version will be called Overlord Minions, a dedicated puzzle action title, for Nintendo DS.

“Epic battles, all new Minion play mechanics, a stunningly detailed new visuals and a fresh theme – Overlord II’s really packing a punch,” says Lennart Sas, director and Overlord lead at Triumph Studios. “We’re really excited about shifting the world to a new era where a Roman-inspired Empire rises as the arch-enemy of the Overlord, which leads to an epic clash between the regimented forces of a sprawling state and the faster, harder, more manic minion horde. It’s also great to see the series reaching new formats. The creativity being packed into the design for Overlord Dark Legend on Wii and Overlord Minions on Nintendo DS make great use of the platforms’ unique features and are perfect extensions to the Overlord series.”

I think it’s cool when video games make such an impact that they’re turned into “Blockbuster Movies”. Super Mario Bros., Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat and Resident Evil are great examples. Wikipedia has the full list. So i figured, if any video game could be turned into a movie ‘Mike Tyson’s Punch Out!!’ could be it. Without further ado, I present to you the cast of Mike Tyson’s Punch Out!! starring:

Minor Circuit

Glass Joe … Owen Wilson

We start off with Owen Wilson playing the underrated 1-99 Glass Joe. Sure Glass lost a few, but I’m sure Owen can capture his charismatic timid self as Joe. We’ve never seen Owen as a boxer, but then again he does have a permanent broken nose. An implanted chin clef wouldn’t hurt too.

Von Kaiser… Tom Selleck

Three men and a little lady was pathetic, just as much as Tom’s mustache compared to Kaiser’s. A small applicator of Just for Men, red dye #2, and a little grease to oil up his stache tips might turn his performance into a great German Boxer.

Piston Honda… Jason Scott Lee

After ‘Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story’, Jason Scott Lee can pretty much nail down any Asian Martial Artist. Strap some leather gloves on him and what you see is the ideal Piston Honda. I dare you to find a better match!
