PETA has an odd assortment of marketing techniques that range from throwing red paint on old ladies wearing fur coats to having celebrities pose naked for ads to throwing meat on crowds. The most recent marketing attempt was having Olympian Amanda Beard pose naked for an anti-fur ad. Does it work or even help PETA? I’m sure people certainly like looking at stuff like this, but I highly doubt it helps the causes of People Eating Tasty Animals (I mean People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals). While I certainly believe we shouldn’t be using animal fur the way society does, I simply can never get on board with the philosophy of PETA. If we were meant to be straight herbavores, meat wouldn’t taste so good. So I’ll continue eating meat, but I can get on board with the no fur thing. I’d like to add that I don’t condone throwing red paint on old ladies or throwing meat on random people. Check out the ad below and let us know what you think.

For $29.99 SRP, DECA SPORTS is actually a pretty good buy.  I’m sure most of you are completely burnt out on Wii Sports by now and this new game is certainly something of some substance adding to existing sports titles on the console.  Hudson Entertainment should do well with the sales of DECA SPORTS, despite some less than stellar reviews of the game.  Some people may view the game as a cheap attempt to cash in on the mini sports game craze, but for $29.99, what do you really expect?  The gameplay is a bit sloppy, but it’s still a fun title.  If you decide to hold off on purchasing the game, I’m sure it will be $19.99 at any Wal-Mart bargain bin in a couple months.

REDWOOD CITY, CA – May 13, 2008 - Hudson Entertainment, the North American publishing arm for HUDSON SOFT, today announced that DECA SPORTS™, a unique ten-sport game, exclusive to Wii™, is now available at retail for $29.99 SRP. Combining ten sporting events into one game, players can compete in beach volleyball, snowboard cross, badminton, basketball, curling, figure skating, archery, supercross, soccer and kart racing.
