GET YOUR FANGS INTO A VAMPYRE STORY, NOVEMBER 21st.

If you remember, a while back we reopened the chapter of Bill Tiller’s latest point-and-click adventure game “A Vampyre Story”.  Well time has passed, again, and we’ve now come to the time where you can download the demo and try it for yourself.  Of course if you like the demo and want to purchase the retail game, today is the official release of “A Vampyre Story” for PC.  Expect our review in the near future… we miss using our mouse-n-keyboard!

“A Vampyre Story is a point & click adventure for PC that tells the tale of the beautiful, gifted opera singer Mona De Lafitte, whose life is brought to an abrupt end by the vampire baron, Shrowdy Von Kiefer. Trapped in Draxsylvania Castle and doomed to a miserable existence as a creature of the night, Mona decides to run away to fulfil her dream of singing at the Paris Opera.”

Hitting Xbox Live on February 17

Sure, they missed the rumored November launch for the Grand Theft Auto IV DLC, but Rockstar has put an end to that web of lies today. The first downloadable pack for the game, entitled “Lost and Damned,” will be out on February 17, 2009 (Hey, same day as Street Fighter IV!).

The developer sent out a press release with a few screenshots (one of which you can see above) and will revolve around a new character and story thread. Interesting to see them expand on the universe a bit more through a new set of eyes. We’ll see how it pans out when the first of two exclusive, 360 episodes hits next year.

With Microsoft’s NXE update coming tomorrow, we’ll remind you what you’ll see, if you’ll see and how to install it.

Previously we spoke about the possible concerns that many XBox 360 owner’s may experience come Wednesday morning, November 19th.  Currently, we have not heard reports of RROD’s but that’s because the update was made available to a select “preview” group.  Which reminds me, those who signed up to the New Xbox Experience program may see an email that will give you access to install the NXE a whole day early!  For those who will wait until tomorrow’s official release, here a video which shows just how easy the update will be… for most of you :)

Weekly Game-Drop List

So we’ve come to this: slow-down time. Don’t get us wrong, there’s still some choice game in this week’s list, but not as steamy hot as recent weeks prior.

Kind of looking forward to MK vs. DC Universe, Left 4 Dead (360 version Jeremy!), and mildly interested in Tomb Raider: Underworld. But still, we wonder how good they are when they’ve yet to show up on the Metacritic…

Capcom has announced that Street Fighter IV’s release date will be February 17th.

Exactly twelve years after Street Fighter III was released in February of 1997, Street Fighter IV will be making it’s long awaited debut in February of 2009. We’ve all seen the screenshots, and one of our very own, Carlos Macias, went to the only US embargoed Street Fighter IV cabinet based in good ole California. So are we excited, hell yeah. After all the Street Fighter iterations, we deserve a part IV.

DLC for Both Xbox 360 and PS3

EA has told Gamecyte that the extra content planned for Mirror’s Edge will come to both Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles — once believed to be PS3 exclusive — around the time the PC version ships in January next year.

We thought it’d be only fair that PS3 got this one since the Xbox 360 will be getting its share of exclusive content with Fallout 3, Tomb Raider, and GTA IV. Oh, well…can’t win them all, err, any.

In the meantime, check out our review of Mirror’s Edge.

While the list of AAA games this week seems a little light, publishers are still releasing some great titles — most away from the FPS norm. Wii gamers get the “for the hardcore” Animal Crossing: City Folk and Tales of Symphonia remake.

Mirror’s Edge and CoD: World at War are missing reviews, but from what we’ve seen they should be a safe buy. PC gets the bound-to-be-huge Wrath of the Lich King expansion and Banjo is back on the 360! Our pick? My Stop Smoking Coach with Allen Carr, of course. *cough, cough*

Eidos Interactive has released more screenshots of Tomb Raider: Underworld, does Lara improve with age?

She’s back.  Coming to NA on November 18th and EU on November 21st. If you’ve played a Tomb Raider game before you know that the voluptuous Lara Croft is all the talk.  This is Lara’s eighth release and as she gets better looking, we gamers realize that maybe Miss Croft is too hot to play with.  Ok, that sounded weird.  Looking very much like Uncharted, TR:Underworld takes place in another Spanish country, this time in Mexico… ok, ok she also goes to Thailand… sue me.  Check out the screens below and tell me if she’s got better with age.

Check out Sega’s latest trailer for House of the Dead… Grindhouse style.

If you’ve seen Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguezs’ last flick, ‘Grindhouse’ you’re gonna notice a slight resemblance in ‘House of the Dead: Overkill’ coming February 17th 2009.  The voice over, the graphics and the special effects all look like a worthy Wii title with a Grindhouse-esque style, especially with the addition of a WiiGun.  Then again, Red Steel used a WiiGun too…
