For those of you lucky PlayStation Underground members, you should have received your Home Beta invitation via email.

PlayStation sent out an invitation to most PlayStation Underground members today informing them of the open PlayStation Home Beta testing.  If you were lucky enough to be chosen, head on over to account management through PSN and redeem your voucher.  You’ll soon see the 77mb install, but PlayStation Home also requires close to 4gb of your hard earned disk space.  So unless you upgraded to a 320gb harddrive you better start clearing out those old demos.

For those wondering, of course I got an invitation.  I’m on the secret board of PS3′ers.  shhhh.

Gather round the family and weird cousins, Buzz Quiz TV will have you playing as a mime and throwing pies at your Grandma!

Let’s begin where most reviews don’t.  The packaging of the game.  Buzz Quiz TV is a fierce looking box, for good reason.  Not only is the game included but 4 buzzers (1 big red button, 4 colored rectangles) and a usb ‘buzz collector’ stick.  You should know what you’re getting into when you see 4 buzzers on the box… yup 8 AA batteries.  But I prefer the wireless buzzers over the potential “rats nest” with wired controllers that could very well be.

Menu Please. Buzz Quiz TV is controlled with the aforementioned “Buzz” controllers.  With that in mind many options are not available because the buzzers are not equipped to resort you back to the main menu. Correction, If you hold down all four colored buttons on the wireless buzzer, you can actually pause the game and also quit the game to return to the main menu. Not sure if this is supposed to be a feature, since it may not want you to drop out an already started game.  For instance, if you accidentally picked a category you were not allowed to return and select a new menu.

Weekly Game-Drop List

So we’ve come to this: slow-down time. Don’t get us wrong, there’s still some choice game in this week’s list, but not as steamy hot as recent weeks prior.

Kind of looking forward to MK vs. DC Universe, Left 4 Dead (360 version Jeremy!), and mildly interested in Tomb Raider: Underworld. But still, we wonder how good they are when they’ve yet to show up on the Metacritic…

The full drop-list after the break… Continue reading »

Capcom has announced that Street Fighter IV’s release date will be February 17th.

Exactly twelve years after Street Fighter III was released in February of 1997, Street Fighter IV will be making it’s long awaited debut in February of 2009. We’ve all seen the screenshots, and one of our very own, Carlos Macias, went to the only US embargoed Street Fighter IV cabinet based in good ole California. So are we excited, hell yeah. After all the Street Fighter iterations, we deserve a part IV.

Hardware and Software Video Game Sales

Last month’s numbers are something we’ve been looking forward to here at Kezins. The biggest games started hitting stores and it’s a good indicator as to what we’ll likely be seeing in the years to come (read: sequels).

We weren’t aware of the kind of clout the Fable series carried, but now we are wide awake to this fact: people love them some Fable II! Disappointing to see the below-average SOCOM: Confrontation selling out the lovable, make-your-own-game, LittleBigPlanet, but there’s always next month.

Software Sales

1. Fable 2 (360) - 790,000
2. Wii Fit (Wii) - 487,000
3. Fallout 3 (360) - 375,000
4. Mario Kart Wii (Wii) - 290,000
5. Wii Play (Wii) - 282,000
6. Saints Row 2 (360) - 270,000
7. SOCOM: Confrontation (PS3) - 231,000
8. Little Big Planet (PS3) - 215,000
9. NBA 2K9 (360) - 202,000

Capcom has been hitting us hard this week with all their updates… which we like.. a lot.

When we first saw the trailer for Resident Evil 5, we were as scared and perplexed as everyone else. There was a big debate as to the zombie’s color skin, which I thought was ridiculous. Everyone knows that Zombies are people who watch live tapings at the Oprah Show. You know the type, line up for hours waiting in front of the studio while their husbands are at work supporting their overweight addictions. Sorry, I got a bit off-topic there. But seriously, do all of Oprah’s guests have to be close to 350lbs and sport a bowl cut? Eww, gross…

Joining the ever popular list of digital downloads, Capcom will have their own section on the PlayStation Network.

For those wondering what new items you’ll see on the PlayStation Network, you’ll be treated to everything that is Capcom. All of Capcom’s digital downloads, demo’s, themes etc. will be located within the “capcom Department”. Not only will this be a huge bonus to PSN fans, but expect future exclusives brought to you courtesy of Capcom.

Within this “Capcom Store”, you’ll be able to browse through all Capcom digital content available from PlayStation Network. Once inside the Capcom category, you will notice that all their content is sorted by title. This allows you easy access to view all content related to a particular game. This includes all full game content, demo and promotional items (themes, wallpapers, etc).

Capcom has officially released their latest screenshots of the re-release of SSFIITHDR.  Now that’s what I call an acronym.

Coming VERY soon, Capcom’s Super Street Fighter II will be featured in none other than 1080p goodness.  I’ve always been a fan of the Street Fighter series, but never have been a fan of all their naming conventions.  They lost me after Super Street Fighter II.  Why not go up the number ladder like Mega Man did.  Just like “The Matrix” movies, I couldn’t tell you which was part 2 then 3.  Was Revolutions Part 2 or Reloaded?  Ah make it easy on us, like “Friday the 13th”.  Wait, what part is Freddy vs. Jason?  Screens below:
