Computer and Video Games has let us know that we’ll be seeing the official announcement of the next KOTOR game in a “matter of weeks.” We’ve reported on this before, but we’ll finally be able to (hopefully!) see a few more concrete details in the near future.
The first two games were incredibly fun to play and proved that with proper care a great RPG could be made out of the “Star Wars” universe. KOTOR II was developed by Obsidian and this new MMO — from what we’ve heard — will have the original team, Bioware, back at the helm.
Might even get this writer to finally try an MMO.

There’s not a better Star Wars game than KOTOR 1 and 2. And I’m down for the MMO, u want to cry? Go play castle crashers. Wow, 2 castle crashers references with a week for me.

people keep saying the rumor of an MMO was debunked, but LucasArts never made any strong comments confirming it wouldn’t be. Obsidion never really denied it. My bet is that we will see an MMO.
And you will see this hard-core Star Wars fan not play the game. KOTOR and KOTOR 2 are two of my all-time favorite games. Why change the formula now? All it needed was updated graphics, perhaps a better combat system, new weapons and abilities, some new characters and a cool Star Wars story and we’d have success..
So if it is an MMO, I am avoiding it honestly. I have no interest in playing a Star Wars RPG MMO. Sorry

I would be pretty upset if they came out with a MMO. One of the main reasons why I play the game if for the storyline and the gameplay. They just could’ve added new planets, new characters, and new weapons, and I would’ve been the first one to buy it, but if it’s an MMO, I’m not sure if I would really want to play it.

They should just stick with what works.

yeah they really should. I’m not a big fan of any MMO honestly. It’s just not my cup of tea. I love RPGs and JRPGs though. I think if KOTOR 3 is an MMO, it could be an epic failure. The real shame is that we’ll have to wait years before a KOTOR IV.

Man, what a bunch of narrow-minded fanboi’s. You wouldn’t give us MMO’ers our shot if Bioware made Kotor 3, 4, 5 & 6. Sometimes I wonder what’s gotten into you folks. How long’s it been since you’ve gotten new Kotor content? Would you like to have new tweaks every month in the form of a game update, new expansions every 6 to 12 months, and ever-increasing world where you don’t have to worry if your game is going to be forgotten?
I know you’re all worried that since this is an MMO, that the story will blow. Well my friends, this isnt SOE. This is Bioware. Give them a chance. George went with them specifically because they are the most trusted not to pull an SWG. It will be great, and you’ll be glad to not only have this ever-evolving MMO, but KOTOR3 when it does release. And KOTOR4.
