There’s been a rumor floating around that a stand-alone AC/DC Rock Band game is on the way. Personally, I think the rumor is unfounded and more than likely not true.
According to Undercover.com.au:
A video game version of the AC/DC DVD ‘Live At Donington’ has hit the schedule for a Wal-Mart release in October.
Wal-Mart now has a stand-alone video game for Rock Band 2 titled ‘Live In Donington’ set in their store itinerary.
We all know AC/DC DLC was headed to Rock Band 2, but I highly doubt they have secretly made a stand-alone game similar to Guitar Hero Aerosmith. Songs from ‘Live at Donington’ have already been confirmed for DLC, so this rumor seems real suspect. If Wal-Mart does have some sort of Rock Band AC/DC product hitting shelves in October, it’s probably a disc with the DLC already on it. My bet is that there is no special product. They may simply be promoting some of the AC/DC DLC on the way or these websites have simply made up the rumor. With no visual evidence in the article of any kind, it’s probably mostly made up.

The most recent info I’ve heard is that it’s going to be an expansion pack. I don’t know how true that is or if it can be verified, but really as long as I can rock out to AC/DC I’m happy! Has anyone seen their display at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? I work for Positively Cleveland, and we’re getting the word out about the Rock Hall. Yeah I think the rumor is bogus. Seems to me that it will be DLC and possibly they’ll sell a pack in stores or something…
