New screens for X-Blades have been released and they look great. Players take on the role of Ayumi, a sexy pistol-blade user. If you are into hack and slash anime style games, this one looks like it might be worthy. There’s a link below to their website where tons of screens are located. I have also posted the latest screens in our gallery below.
London, April 25th 2008 - Ayumi, “X-Blades” sexy heroine, doesn’t only look good in the game’s artworks - those fantastic brand-new screens almost make her jump right at you out of the screen! The development team at Gaijin Entertainment has really pulled out all the stops in the past few weeks, integrating lots of new objects into the game - there are fascinating statues and mysterious receptacles - and you can break ‘em all to get at the contents, which might be special rewards in the form of power-ups or maybe treasure.
Another focal issue for the developers is the ongoing refinement of Ayumi’s combat skills. She has been given new attack moves - and at the same time the fluidity of the various animated graphics and their inter-connection have been perfected.
To give you a foretaste of all this, you’ll also find these and a bunch of high-res screenshots at at www.x-blades.com.

April 29th, 2008 at 12:55 amX-Blades looks fantastic. As an anime nut ,this is right up my alley. While I’m waiting for the Dead or Alive adventure game Code Chronos (unless it’s a myth) ,I can get my badass chick fix from X-Blades.

April 29th, 2008 at 12:59 amOn an unrelated topic, people are already lined up and camping out for GTA4. I just saw it on the news. My kid’s Phys Ed coach was so proud that he’s already played a bootleg of it.
Big man had to announce it to a classroom of 10 year olds. Jerk. -

April 29th, 2008 at 1:02 amI’m glad you brought up Code Chronos. I heard a little about it back in 2006 and nothing since. It was supposed to be a prequel to DOA. I’ll see if I can find out anything new on it.

April 29th, 2008 at 4:04 amCode Chronos was supposed to come out after DOA 4 and Ninja Gaiden 2, but I haven’t heard another word about it.
I always thought it would be cool if those little hints of a story in between the Dead or Alive baattles were fleshed out into a real story.
Plus I just like looking at Ryu Hayabusa.
He is so hot without that mask. Hayate is hot too.Dead or Alive is not just eye candy for guys. Chicks have something to look at too.
But I’m not holding my breath for a life size pillow of Hayabusa in a banana hammock. They already did that whole body pillow thing for Kasumi-chan years ago. Ladies are not DOAs target audience.
I never got into Jann Lee because it looks like he waxes his eyebrows. -

April 29th, 2008 at 8:50 amah interesting about the DOA not just being for guys. I’m talking with a professor this week about gender representation in games, so will hopefully come away with an interesting interview.
